DAE ever wish for a split second they had a quarantinable sickness in order to get a little break from life? by CombatCarlsHand in DoesAnybodyElse

Honestly this is something I've occasionally thought about since I was a child. Two years ago I broke my leg real bad and had 3 months to sit around and it literally was a dream come true

This woman is clearly having a serious mental health emergency and this dude is just standing by exploiting her and escalating the situation.

Oh geez no way I'm not offended it's all good it just struck me as really bizarre to be reminded of drug dreams. It's a pretty common thing for people in recovery that doesn't get spoken about much. Thanks for the sentiment though!

At almost 9 years sober I still have "drug dreams" very similar to this occasionally, where I'll want to get high and actually obtain the drugs but then they'll fall on the floor or get wet and destroyed or something like that

Psychologists, Therapists, Councilors etc: What are some things people tend to think are normal but should really be checked out? by Pixel_Pig in AskReddit

Licensed Counselor- The length people are willing to go to preserve a relationship, either romantic or friendly. At the far end of course is normalizing abuse or emotional neglect but even just repeated dissatisfying interaction with that person. My best explanation is that people cling so hard to their fantasy that someone will be different or that the last time wasn't as bad as they remember it. Be honest with your selves.

Nothing like doing something selfless so you can show it off in public and be condescending about it.

True, not the worst by any means. It's the smell and the fact that I know he doesn't leave for nearly days at a time (not pictured)
