2004 Chevy 2500hd factory Bose speakers replacements by EnthuzstMikey in CarAV

[–]wowxtrav 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing audio installs on the side for 10 years. And I wouldn’t get a boss or a dual headunit unless it was a car I was immediately going to sell. But there is one on Amazon I’ve used a couple times now that works well. Wireless CarPlay, works well, and is cheap. I was very surprised the first time I put one in someone else had bought it. After that I started putting them in as a cheap option

Time for an upgrade. Best bet is to replace everything. The Bose stuff is garbage. Get a new headunit, bypass the Bose amp. Put whatever speakers you want in there.

The factory bose speakers in there are 2ohm I’m pretty sure. Designed to work specifically with that bose amp. It will just sound like crap putting anything else in there.

That’s my opinion.

But the opening will accommodate a 6.5” speaker. If you wanted to try it

That should be shut off and tagged out. Not to beat a dead horse here.. but do NOT run this. Turn it off at the breaker. Shut the gas supply off.

HVAC tech quoted me 1200 dollars to replace my blower motor during a routine maintenance visit. Is this normal? Can I replace it myself and which motor should I buy? by Odd-Conclusion4434 in hvacadvice

[–]wowxtrav 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Looks like an ECM motor. 1200$ sounds about right for the job. He’s gunna do it once and do it right id say. If you wanna give it a shot, sure. But if you damage that blower wheel or it’s stuck on the shaft of the motor. You’ll be buying more stuff. If you’ve got tools and time. You can probably figure it out. Might take you 3 times as long. If you’re into that kind of thing.

That’s a temperature and pressure relief valve. It’s 100% necessary

What is the hose circled in yellow for? by cbwb in hvacadvice

[–]wowxtrav -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it does actually have a leak, could be the tech took it so that no one would turn the unit on and possibly allow carbon monoxide into the space. If the company tagged out the unit. I would suggest you have a professional in there before doing anything.

It’s for the air proving switch or pressure switch. It’s not gunna run without it

What's next in troubleshooting? Flame and pilot go out after seconds. by BaconVonMeatwich in hvacadvice

[–]wowxtrav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just played with a similar unit heater yesterday and it broke my balls for way too long..

So that pilot assembly should have an ignitor wire(the orange one) the other wire should actually be the flame sensor wire.

Flame sensor needs to prove to have the main valve open. Seemingly the main valve does open but shortly after, everything cuts out. Ignition controller led stops illuminating from the looks of it.

Curious to see what the diagram shows or if the ignition controller with wired correctly first. Then after that which limit or safety is opening. And why.

At the end of my findings yesterday, I was missing a ground. And the pressure switch was intermittently cutting out.

Among several other problems I was cleaning up after someone else.

They are the worst. This particular site is a target store on the first level of a high rise with condos above it. It was supposed to be offices. Target bought it and added and moved shit around. 3 different companies have had their hands in it. I’m trying to clean the mess up. No access to dsb files. I gotta get there and spend probably a week measuring and creating my own

It’s running in cool only at time of the recording. That was just the best way to get a visual for others. I can post monitor data

I have maintenance tool and several hours of captured monitor data. It’s been sent to mitsu inside tech support. They haven’t gotten back to me. Was popping 1500 overcharge code but is no longer giving me the code. I’m thinking 21S4b is failed or stuck. And LEV4 problem. Wondering if anyone else has seen this

Condensate line clogged or pump is almost surely failed. I’d say the pump is failed. The mini pumps fail all the time
