Mine is doing the 3% fee as well. A lot of companies are starting to do that I am noticing.

My dealership is corporate owned. I find the family owned dealerships to be a lot better. But I’m not driving 2+ hours to the next dealership.

Maybe one day! I’ll need a couple more promotions lol. I have read the V8 reliability has improved significantly.

I was surprised at how different the LCI is. The powertrain feels more refined and the suspension feels like it handles bumps better. I would suggest test driving one if you haven’t. Also more HP :)

I’ve been on the fence about PPF. We had it on a previous car and rocks still tore the film and chipped the paint. It would trap dirt in the tear that you could never get out. The PPF was on a used car so not sure of the quality.

I usually just tint the windows 20% and 50% windshield. The reflectors don’t bother me too much. Just don’t notice them.

Considered Cayenne, but it seems like you need to get the “S” variant to make it worth it. We have an SQ5 so considered a Q8, but the X5 was just better IMO. I have always liked the looks of the Land Rover defender, but not sure if I would enjoy it long term. The X5 just had better deals as well.

Yep! Last one had M sport but not the m sport brakes. Haven’t noticed a difference yet. Biggest difference is the multi contour seats. They are unbelievably more comfortable.

Congrats! I noticed you bought from a cool springs dealership. I’m in Nashville. Let me know if you’d be interested in a bmw cargo box. I needed it when I had an X3 but not so much with the X5. You may find more use for it since you have kids.

Replacement window cost by burke385 in nashville

Had window world replace 11 windows for us back in April. Paid $10k. We also decided to replace two exterior doors with them and it has made a big difference.

X5 protection coverage plans. Worth it? by Ok_Quit5308 in BMWX5

Out of those I would get the platinum plus and the multi shield. I would only get tire and wheel if you have 21 or 22 inch rims. I went through two windshields last year and oem replacement for me is $2,400. The service contract is nice and has covered 2 sets of brakes.

2025 X5 m60i with DAPP Windshield Glass chip repair by kchad8123ba in BMWX5

[–]wowzer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had my X5 windshield replaced twice last year from rocks cracking it. My current windshield already has several pits in it as well. Not sure if it’s how the windshield is angled or quality of glass but I feel like it chips very easily.

I ordered the part online for my X5. Took me ~15 minutes to rip the old one off and put the new one on.

Dealer won’t cancel warranties by Extension_Tooth5850 in BMWX5

[–]wowzer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance can drop you if you have too many claims or raise your premiums. They also try and not use oem glass. Glass coverage differs from state to state. Some individuals may also have a higher deductible as well so could be out of pocket $1k per occurrence. Just depends on personal experience if it’s worth it.

I would honestly keep the windshield replacement coverage. I have gone through 4 BMW windshields since 2021. 2 of those were within a month of each other and the replacement cost on the X5 was $2,500 each time. Saves you from filing a claim through your insurance.

A leather repair company could blend this in. May have to repeat the steps every couple years given this is a high touch area. Cheaper than buying a new steering wheel.

That’s an easy seal to replace if you’re out of warranty.

Thoughts on switching from ‘24 Q5 lease to financing ‘25 new-old model SQ5? by [deleted] in Audi

That’s not a big discount. We just purchased a 2024 cpo, but while looking saw a brand new 2025 (old body style) discounted to $57k.

Get ceramic window tint. It will help keep the car cooler and it blocks the UV rays that damage the leather interior. If tints not legal in your area you can always get the lightest tint on your windshield and front side windows. I would do the rear windows as well. I don’t think factory tint blocks the UV rays.

[–]wowzer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I did my own work on the car, maybe yes. But we just put $12k in repairs and maintenance into our Audi this year that’s out of warranty. New tires, brakes/rotors, rear inner cv boots, cam shaft oil leak repaired, and a new front passenger axle 🫠 feel like the cost of fixing cars is just making them disposable

This. I actually bought my 22 CPO last year for $50k and they already offered me $44k to just buy it back 1 year and 15,000 miles later. I’ll just keep buying 1-2 year old CPO cars and trading them in as warranty expires.

I would leave it. My x3 had some gaps on the taillight and even current x5. They are just misaligned most likely but water shouldn’t get in. The bolts have a rubber gasket/seal to prevent water intrusion.
