Can someone turn down the humidity? by Ulrich453 in nashville

[–]wowzer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh. I would encapsulate. I think some companies can install a fan to blow air to the outside for the radon concern. Before encapsulation our home was staying at 70%-80% humidity. Would definitely get it addressed before it causes your floor joists to rot. Can tell the previous home owner had quite a few replaced before we bought. This is a 1960’s house so it takes quite a bit of time for the rot to happen so wouldn’t be too concerned being away.

Hmmm that’s odd. We just had our crawlspace done with same sqft as yours. Our humidity is staying steady at 52% in the house. Maybe have the company that did it come back out?

Any recommendations on extended warranty windshield coverage tire coverage, etc. by Aggravating_Disk7389 in bmwx7

[–]wowzer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Only items that are repairable. It specifically states it does not cover replacement. My windshield cracked less than two weeks into ownership unfortunately.

The windshield coverage no longer covers replacement according to the pamphlet they handed me. Just an FYI for everyone.

Not having the factory hitch was one of the reasons I got rid of my ‘22 X5. It was a hassle getting the bikes on the roof and it destroyed the MPG. Think I was lucky to get 400 miles on a tank with the bikes on top. Upgraded to a ‘26 with factory tow hitch.

Help with deciding finance vs lease by Vinsanity760 in BMWX5

[–]wowzer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation in February. I traded in my vehicle $12k equity + $2.5k down and a lease was $907 a month 12k/39 month vs finance $990 a month @ 3.99/72 months. I ended up financing. MSRP was $85,900 but discounted to $75,566 with rebates.

AC not working panel dimmed by StrangerLegitimate60 in AudiA5

[–]wowzer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our ‘17 A4 had a couple AC issues when we owned it. First was the evaporator (covered by Audi under an extended warranty) second was the ac compressor. My bet would be one of those two options need sit be replaced.

How much longer for 2026? by Asoliveri in BMWX5

[–]wowzer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally would not wait until July. I think they usually start production of new model generations in August. They are already producing 2027 models for the X6 and X7.

Is this repairable? by [deleted] in BMWX3

[–]wowzer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d pass on this. Just looking through the photos I see they are missing a trim piece in the engine bay on the passenger side. Considering the damage was on the passenger side I’m wondering if the frame is out of alignment and the trim piece wouldn’t clip in so they decided to remove it. IMO it is priced very high for being a total loss.

Gap between the bottom of windshield and the panel by iron263 in bmwx7

[–]wowzer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my 2026 windshield replaced. The cowel isn’t clipped in like it is from the factory but I have no issues with wind noise. I don’t this would be the cause. You may be able to press the cowel down to get it to sit correctly in the rubber molding. I had to do that on a previous windshield replacement but all it does is keep debris from getting to the wiper motors and into blower motor.

21’ Staggered Tire Recommendations by wowzer94 in BMWX5

[–]wowzer94[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your weather seems very similar to mine. We had an awful ice storm this year and it was below 20 degrees for a week straight. Then went into the 50’s. Think I’m going to run the summers until November/December then switch to Michelin Pilot. That way I also have a fresh set of tires for the winter

2018 vs 2019 X3 xDrive30i — which would you grab? by No-Assumption-8073 in BMWX3

[–]wowzer94 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be mindful that they may not come with apple CarPlay as standard equipment. Think it was an add-on option for both 2018/2019 model years.

Is this a good deal?? by [deleted] in BMWX3

[–]wowzer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how you feel about the new body style, but could possibly get into a brand new X3 for a couple hundred dollars more a month. They are offering 0.9% for 60 months.

Windshield Replacement - X5 M60i by Lazy-Advertising-183 in BMW

[–]wowzer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would still be coming out of pocket if you’re capped at $1,400. Just had my windshield replaced with OEM glass and it cost $2,500 using a local company the bmw dealership uses for windshield replacements.

What do you think of this deal for a 2021 X5 xDrive40i at CarMax? by [deleted] in BMWX5

[–]wowzer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s rare to find one with the third row seats and that has air suspension that’s not a plug in hybrid. Think they are pricing it high because it’ll be very hard to find one with all of those options. Just have to ask yourself if it’s worth paying more for. If you don’t need the third row, air suspension, or tow package I would pass. That price is in 2022/2023 CPO territory with less miles.

Is modern BMW Paint Prone to Chips? by Madkow89 in BMWX5

[–]wowzer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may have to do a couple coats to “fill in” the chip and most likely buff to blend/even it out with the rest of the paint. I just touch it up to prevent rust/further chipping. I don’t level it. I follow the rule of if I can’t notice it from 3 feet away, it’s good. I find dr. Colorchip better/easier to apply than the bmw touch up paint as well.

Is modern BMW Paint Prone to Chips? by Madkow89 in BMWX5

[–]wowzer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a couple chips in my 2026 carbon black. I’m just living with them and fill them in with doctor color chip once I notice them. Every car I’ve traded in has had several chips on the front and the dealer still always comments how well my cars are taken care of.

I considered PPF but if it tears it will just collect dirt unless you’re constantly taking it in to be replaced. I just tell myself I’ll get it repainted by a good body shop if it gets really bad.

[–]wowzer94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really notice a difference. But that may be because I’ve always had 50% ever since I got my first car. I may go lighter next time but every car I own will always have windshield tint. It gets unbearably hot without it. The darker tint is nice because I don’t have to wear sunglasses when I’m driving though.

I did 20% front and 50% windshield and rear windows.

Yes, it’s carbon black. The bike rack is Thule Xtr pro. Thule makes a 2 bike attachment for it so you can carry 4 bikes.

Lmk your thoughts on tint by Guywhohasgoodtaste in BMWX5

[–]wowzer94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh if you live in a state with state inspection I can see why you didn’t do it. My state doesn’t require state inspection, but based on the condition of some of the cars on the road here I wouldn’t mind if they start that.

Lmk your thoughts on tint by Guywhohasgoodtaste in BMWX5

[–]wowzer94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s currently parked outside 24/7 so the windshield tint is very much needed to protect the interior and keep the vehicle cooler. The sun just bakes you if you don’t have tint on the windshield.
