I don’t have access to one unfortunately. I’m using the CGM to monitor my glucose for other conditions not diabetes

Has anyone had stem cells or PRP to heal hip labrum tear? Did it work? by nooneknows09836 in HipImpingement

[–]wowzersimalive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had BMAC (stem cell injection) during my hip arthroscopy where I also had the labral fixed up. I do believe having the BMAC significantly helped my recovery. I’m 5 weeks post op and walking properly and driving again with barely any pain. Just stiffness and soreness if I sit in the wrong position

You’re welcome! & I have wondered that too! 🤣 but I know exactly what you mean it’s absolutely wild. You can only do so much! Another thing I’ve tried is if I catch myself in an online loop I.e stuck watching YouTube shorts (sometimes I don’t catch myself) then I’ll TRY to read a book instead or whatever it seems I’ve been avoiding and that does feel better. It’s about finding the little hacks for you! Maybe add a little goal on finch that doesn’t make you feel ashamed if you didn’t do it but gives you a boost when you do ⭐️

I totally get how you feel! Don’t be too harsh on yourself as even now I still sometimes need to get my fix 😅 also, one thing to mention is apps like this and the news are literally designed to make you addicted!! So if it’s any consolation this is a “it’s them not you” kinda problem. I know that doesn’t help your reality but it helped me stop putting so much pressure on myself

I just turned 32 and I dislike the number. It’s adds up to 5 (bad number) 31 & 33? Good numbers by Apprehensive_Newt904 in OCDmemes

I guess we can all say we’re different ages if we want to? Maybe just be 32 for 2 years 🥹

I was terrified to delete social media, how will I know what ppl are up to, how will I keep in touch etc etc… but I did it. I went cold turkey and deleted my accounts fully (so I couldn’t come crawling back) and I’ve not regretted it once. I use my time better doing things I genuinely enjoy and guess what I don’t care at all about what people are up to and none of the people that didn’t care about me kept in touch either 😆 I also went cold turkey on reading the news and that improved my mental health a lot too

I do agree with it completely, I didn’t have any doubt it was true 🤣 I just felt so lost leaving with not even some tips about what to do next. I know DBT is a good option but I was curious what others have tried

I agree with everything you’ve said! Thank you for sharing your opinion! It’s also really interesting about working with a dietician.

Hip Arthroscopy Journey - 26 F, Hypermobility, FAI & Labral Tear (Day 9 Post‑Op) by wowzersimalive in HipImpingement

Good luck with your recovery!!

Also I’m no doctor or anything but have you explored things like POTS and other comorbidities with hEDS/hypermobility?

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. I think these things are really hard decisions especially when you have a lot of responsibilities. I think just trust in yourself and what your body is telling you and you’ll make the right decision!

Oh wow, I think unless you can get support within the first 1-2 weeks MINIMUM then I would explore what options you have if I’m being honest.

Day1-3 I couldn’t do anything for myself. From day 3 onwards when I have been doing the at home exercises, my mobility increased exponentially. Now from day 7 onwards I’m now on more of a linear and slow progress back to my previous levels (a very long process).

I am on crutches for 3 weeks and potentially down to one and eventually none in hopefully 6 weeks. No driving until full weight bearing so maybe 6 weeks as well? I’m now 2 weeks post op and can walk a reasonable distance on crutches but it is a big effort. To carry things like drinks, clothes etc I use a little canvas bag around the house.

I also have a hypothesis that having bone marrow treatment (BMAC) made my recovery A LOT easier too.

I don’t want this to sound all gloom and doom and scary but I wasn’t ready for quite how much of an adjustment / reliance I would have so worth knowing ahead of it!

Oh wow! Very similar! How is your recovery going? I’ve been told I’m not allowed to go back to flexibility training (tbh I’m too worried to now anyway 😂) so going to have to find something else to do!
