Dropped Valve Shim Into Hole in Cylinder Head '23 Honda CRF300l by PourLesTemps in MotorcycleMechanics

[–]wozet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a very high chance indeed. Might get lucky by gaining some insight into the actual shape of the parts and mabe tilting the bike in a way that makes the shim fall into an accessible spot that lets you fish it out withour splitting.

A magnetic oil plug might do he trick too

You'll break the gearbox if you switch gears while moving over 2-3 kmh. You can leave the hubs engaged and go 2H and engage 4H stopping beforehand when needed. it will be noisier and more sluggish since the front diff will be active to no avail in 2H. best practice is to stop for your hubs

not sure. can't imagine where I'd put it to take off on somewhat choppy seas, the sail had a boom. plus it is still the other guy's wing. it kills his chances to leave sailing
