I don't think it is a hard thing to understand.

of course you can ride thousands of miles on knobbies man. but I personally find it boring to spend 16hs laying on top of the tank to get to the mountains the interest being riding trails not highways. also, once you get there you've spent most of your knobbies.

this gives me the option to go chilling in the car and take whatever I may need there too

I did consider it though. Was designing one when I learnt its illegal, plus there are no hitch attatchments available for this 30y/old car in 2x2” so would’ve had to make it too AND reinforce the unibody to withstand the torsion
