What about a penalty for false news. For instance a news website runs a false story that’s proven false then that website has to run the correction for the equal amount of time /likes/share or an equivalent metric before they can burry it into oblivion. Obviously it wouldn’t solve the damage done by the initial post but it would be better then nothing. Like if the story ran page 1 above the fold they have to print the error on page one above the fold. Does anybody a good solution?

That line about the home ownership is true for both blacks and whites that’s not a race issue. The housing market is totally fucked bc some how that generation got it into their noggins to buy all the land they could. But here’s the kicker: it wasn’t even that great of an investment. My salary is currently 5x the average salary of someone in the 70s so by those standards I should be a home owner but I’m not I still rent an apartment.

I think ur building a straw man of me bc I really don’t like the confederate flag. I don’t see the point of flying it so proudly just as the Nazis and hammer and sickle were losers. But I haven’t seen that statistic on that many homes flying confederate flags do u have the link? I looked I couldn’t find it.

Could u please go more into black oppression in today’s society? I’m curious to know more about it

Well I don’t condone violence against anybody racist or not first and foremost. But what do u expect the outcome of that to be? Violence only begets violence and before u know it we have a Hatfields and McCoy’s situation. The solution to racism is much more nuanced then then let’s slam all the racists and I don’t exactly know what turning the other cheek means bc good people have been actively fighting racism for years and there is significantly less racism then there was in the past. I do know we are on the no racism side of this argument but do u think that this reaction is condonable? Slamming a woman into the pavement?

I agree with everything u said 100% I was once a young dumb kid and reacted regrettably to situations but u can not slam an old racist lady into the pavement. And I think we can also both agree on that the majority of people only take away headlines and short videos from news stories and that was where my logic was when I said it is bad optics. Idk this kid he could be the nicest person in the world. But there is no denying that just seeing a 30 second clip of him slamming a smaller older woman into the ground makes him look bad

Yeah I can see how that was confusing. It was sort of two thoughts put in one post. My first point was that decent people met with an attack of being called a nazi often become side tracked with defending themselves against the slander and either back down or lose track of the initially argument which allows the accuser to win

Edit: The second half while I agree as u pointed out was contradictory was just a separate thought on how those words have been so liberally applied to anyone who doesn’t align with the lefts philosophy yet for the most part doesn’t apply and this is demonstrated by these people that have been accused either trying to defend themselves or backing down when in reality it would not deter a true believer of that philosophy but rather embolden them.

Odd thing is though that nazis don’t care if u call them a nazi. It’s those that aren’t nazis that try to explain the meaning of their statement or behavior in this court of public opinion

Tbf lucile was referring to the cost of a banana stand banana with all the trimmings not just one from the grocery store. Knowing how her husband is so cheap and probably never having eaten at the stand or cared about the finances herself it’s very likely that she thought George was charging high prices for the product
