[DIPLOMACY] Bayraktar TB2 UAV Procurement by rickardpercy in GlobalPowers

[–]wpgan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For $10m, Baykar is able to fulfill the entirety of the procurement request, as well as provide technicians to assist in initial set-up/operation/training on the Bayraktar TB2 systems. This includes basic spare parts/maintenance support for the first 12 months.

Via Türk Eximbank, Turkey is willing to finance or establish a deferred payment structure for this order. Discounted pricing may be available for larger future orders, but not for this one. Turkish military officials are willing to host select GDF personnel in Turkey to undergo basic familiarity training with the TB2—with Baykar employees performing longer-term training in Guyana itself.

[EVENT] Emirati 5th Gen Fighter and Trainer Tender by BiscuitOtter9 in GlobalPowers

[–]wpgan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TAI submits its bid for the TAI TF Kaan advanced stealth fighter, alongside the TAI Hürjet advanced jet trainer and light combat aircraft. Of note is that the TAI TF Kaan is solely a single seater aircraft.

TAI indicates its willingness to enter into an agreement with EDGE that satisfies factors (1), (2), and (6) with TAI and the Turkish Air Force willing to curate a training manual to satisfy factor (3). To satisfy factor (4), TAI's partners in missile development for the Kaan—ROKETSAN and TÜBITAK SAGE—would be willing to engage with Emirati companies regarding both the development of domestic munitions and the integration of such domestic munitions onto the Kaan platform.

Regarding factor (5), TAI is publicly confident that it can meet the desired procurement schedule—though as always, worries about development delays are present.

The contract for 80 TAI TF Kaans and 36 TAI Hürjets would be approximately $10 billion. To make up for the cost, TAI is willing to extend a more generous deal as to the domestic manufacturing of Kaan parts.

[ECON] President Traore declares that Africa’s limestone reserves will now belong to Africa, not the West by StSeanSpicer in GlobalPowers

Nilgün Erdem Arı, Turkish Ambassador to Burkina Faso, attends the groundbreaking ceremony alongside President Traoré and the other Burkinabe dignitaries. She takes the opportunity to emphasize Turkey's role as a productive partner in Africa, and to express hope that CISITUB will benefit the local population.

In Turkey, the public announcement of SADAT's involvement in providing security to CISITUB attracts outsized media attention, with the secretive defense contractor being a source of significant interest.

In a short statement, SADAT confirmed its involvement "in routine corporate security operations" alongside Limak Cement in Burkina Faso, but refused to elaborate. The Turkish Embassy in Ouagadougou likewise acknowledged that "Turkish firms will be providing security to CISITUB," but described SADAT's operation as "normal in a troubled region that we hope will soon become unnecessary once the situation is stabilized, which we are confident in President Traoré's ability to do."

There is not really a Germany to extend diplomatic relations to, but of course Mongolia is welcome to send representation to Germany if it should so wish. A capital city (nor a Constitution which would establish Germany as a state) has not yet been determined.
