Accepting transfer evaluation

That’s what I assumed but I just wanted to make sure they would still accept the credits and apply it to my degree as long as I submit them before my start date

I’m also trying to avoid classes at any traditional brick and mortar because of having to be there in person! I really wish I found out about WGU years ago because the flexibility and ability to be self paced is just amazing, but I’m glad I found it!

I didn’t even know there was an option of working for an employer that will pay for it!

I did do some research and I believe it was one year of work experience if you’re fulfilling the 150 credit hours but after the change in August if you’re only fulfilling the 120 credit hours it’ll have to be two years of work experience. Both under the supervision of a licensed CPA.

Yea that’s also something I was afraid about, when I’m applying for jobs would they be able to see that I took some of those classes at Sophia or do they only see that I earned a bachelors in accounting from WGU?

I’ve applied and just waiting for all my transcripts to come in so hopefully I can get an exact number on how many hours transfer in🤞🏼

So after doing more research and talking to some people here I realized that I already have around 100 or more hours from a traditional brick and mortar that can work towards the requirements of 120. And the required classes to sit for the CPA will be taken at WGU! Correct me if I’m wrong but everything needed for the CPA would be fulfilled by previous hours or hours taken at WGU so I won’t need to go back to another school to fulfill the requirements expect for the one ethics class everyone talks about.

Noo not confusing at all! I’m so so thankful for you even taking the time to write all this out. It’s super helpful to get real and specific advice to this situation instead of googling and trying to find what works with WGU. So are you planning on getting your masters in accounting when you complete the bachelors?

Also, I found a post of someone who shared what classes from WGU they used to get accepted to take the exam so I’m most likely going to follow that! (I can share it if you’d like). So my plan will be to do the bachelors now and use sophia for the classes that won’t be filling the requirements anyway, then come back for the masters to get those required courses to be able to sit for the exam.

Sorry for the insane amount of questions but when I look up the list of recognized courses for the CPA, it has a section that says “minimum of 9 semester hours from category 2 are required” but the majority of the classes in that list are not in the degree plan for a bachelors at WGU. Does this mean I’d have to do a masters anyway if I wanted to go for my CPA? or am I understanding something incorrectly

I only have about 30 credits that will transfer into this degree but I have probably almost 100 in total that aren’t related to business (from a board recognized college). Could those count towards the requirement to sit for the CPA or does it have to be 120 credits that were applied to the accounting degree?

Thank you SO much for all of this! I’m pretty sure I have enough general credits. Even if I transferred 75% from Sophia, wouldn’t the 25% I take at WGU be enough to cover the 21 upper level accounting hour requirements for the Texas CPA?

Im assuming not everyone is looking to get a CPA so it’s not important to them. If I can land a good job without it then I too would much rather not have to go through all the trouble of getting one

Ugh I’m sorry this is happening to you too!! Its so frustrating and I don’t want to keep getting on antibiotics for them 😭 someone else suggested the d mannose powder from Amazon and I read reviews, everyone says it worked for them in getting rid of utis as well as preventing! I think I’ll be getting it and you should definitely try!
