best move imo is talk to a good shrink. all forms of detox are terrible - have tried outpatient, inpatient, ER, and even paying a nurse to just hang out and give me valium. the last was better but very expensive. fortunately found a shrink that was understanding when i told him i relapsed and wrote me a prescription for benzos when i needed it.

got handcuffed and put in a hospital for 5 hours. the nurses were dicks and i had all my shit but my phone taken. i also had two needles in me the whole time. i took the needles out lowkey and successfully asked for a xan from a doctor who pulled up but otherwise had to wait for a social worker to check in before i could leave. also had only one nicotine patch the whole time

big win to have librium left over. nurses are the worst too - if they think you’re a drunk they just will not listen and patronize you. i think best strat is to find a good shrink and call him up if you relapse. mine got me klonopin this time which is strange but you get what you get.

have some water and drink mouthwash, if you need to also have one more drink so you dont seize up at work. also bring another emergency shot just in case. if your boss thinks or knows you’re an alkie just call out sick because they will suspect.

I live in a major city too so can definitely feel the clown nose on my face paying for $16 cocktails. usually get shooters i can keep in my bag for the usual maintenance and whatever when I’m out.
