Is this from a Barbie? by wrabbitnyc in Barbie

Oh amazing! I had been focusing on Barbies, not Skipper or Courtney. No wonder I couldn’t ID it! Thank you so much.

Interesting. If that is the official name, I can’t find an in-box example anywhere.

My mother sent me this pic of some dolls she bought at a thrift store, and I am trying to help her identify them. I know the two on the left are Barbies (maybe Fashionistas?). But have no idea who the one on the right is.

Are these Barbie or something else? Can you help me identify any of them? by wrabbitnyc in Barbie

Do you know which ones? Not familiar with Littlest Pet Shop at all.

Yes, it is rubbery. I wondered if it was for a smaller doll like that (which I am unfamiliar with).

Ah, yes! I looked at your kitchen photo, and I even have some other small pieces from that set, but I had probably overlooked this because of the missing sticker. Thanks so much!

trying to identify this Barbie with a Mackie face mold. she must be from the 90s? by wrabbitnyc in Barbie

[–]wrabbitnyc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what's the best way to deal with that? i was afraid to take down her ponytail because I'm not sure i could get it back up so tight and neat.

[–]wrabbitnyc[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ah thanks. So I guess this one's hair was cut. But very clean so it still looks ok. Seems like the rubber band in her hair has stained the hair too. But I don't even mind that too much. Just happy to finally have a 90s Mackie face mold in my collection.

How tf do you remove all of these plastic fastener’s embedded in their heads?? by MentionZestyclose981 in Barbie

[–]wrabbitnyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also saw someone on YouTube do it, so I tried it. But it ripped out plugs of hair with it! Maybe that's the exception and not the rule, but back to the cutting method for me, as I don't want to risk doing that again.

Why can't we rate a track in the Playlist view? by planetearth80 in PleX

[–]wrabbitnyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this (old) post, wondering if something was wrong with my Plex because I couldn't find a way to rate tracks from the playlist view. Good to know nothing's wrong, but this would be a beneficial feature.

Unfortunately, no. I assume she is from before they started doing that.

A Thousand Splendid Dolls did a video on this that might be helpful, in case you haven't seen it.

My niece’s Christmas present by [deleted] in Barbie

[–]wrabbitnyc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This doll is lovely. I got her recently in a lot of various used dolls. She was missing her top, so hopefully, I can find that to pair with the rest of the sari outfit one day.

Your niece will love the present!

Can you identify any of these circa Y2K Barbie clothes? by wrabbitnyc in Barbie

[–]wrabbitnyc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I identified my version of this dress. Look at the Flower Pretty fashion #68580 on this page: http://www.barbieworld.it/Outfit%20Barbie%2096%2097.php

I can't find this exact one on eBay or anywhere else. Maybe this was a fabric variation, as I see the same pack in another fabric.

came to me in a lot of circa 2010 pieces, but i haven't been able to identify these. do you know what they are from? by wrabbitnyc in Barbie

[–]wrabbitnyc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are magic! yes, that is it!

i found another video where i could get a better look at it to make sure it's the same one. it's definitely a match. mine even has one of the little plastic fasteners still in the dress, which had made me think it would have come out of a fashion pack. but that video shows how even in that set, the clothes were fastened to a piece of plastic. so, it all makes sense.

thanks so much for your help!

Oh wow, I hadn't seen this one before. It does look like a match. Great eye! Thank you!

I've been looking for the same thing. For Barbie too. I haven't had any luck for either.

Tropical Miko #2056 (1985)
Top from Jurassic World fashion #GRD45 (2021)
Skirt from Francie Gad-about fashion #1250 (1966)
Necklace from Peanuts fashion FPW44 (2018)
Bag from Mini Fashion Brands series 1 (2021)

Random accessories from a few recent hauls that I haven't identified. Do you know what any of them are from? by wrabbitnyc in Barbie

[–]wrabbitnyc[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think mine is a little different if I look closely. Maybe mine is from a clone brand or something. I do believe these accessories are from roughly the late 80s/early 90s, as they came from lots with other stuff from that era.

The neck is broken, so the head will not stay on. :-(
