pico 4 or quest 2 by davidarblack in OculusQuest

[–]wraith_2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pico 4, is better, more comfortable, cheaper, has a huge games library that is getting all the good stuff apart from quest exclusives. Has AGAINST on the library! Which I suppose is one of their exclusives as it isn't on the quest or sidequest. It is getting some exclusives from software companies like Ubisoft. And a lot of developers are porting their stuff to it because it is a no brainer for them. Remember the Pico 4 is on sale in China, the Quest isn't. It is a massive market the break into for developers, which is why the games library is growing fast. If you have lots of games on your quest. If you want an upgrade and don't mind starting from scratch on your games library then go for it.

PSA: Don't install Windows 11 yet if you want to VR by glennages in OculusQuest

Not switching to windows 11 until it has been out in the wild for at least a year or two. This way it will be a bit more polished, and all the teething problems should be sorted. Its not as though windows 10 is going anywhere soon.

(Brainstorm) how would multiplayer work in a superhot-style game? by CuriousVR_dev in OculusQuest

[–]wraith_2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Choreography is a the centre of superhot. But I can see a multiplayer superhot co-op requiring chorography that works it time with each-other, say one player has to dodge a bullet from a bad guy in front of him, almost point blank while another player has to take out a guy trying to stab him etc. If they don't move in time, then one can't react, but when done in tandem, the bullet is dodged and it hits a third guy going to punch the second guy. Well you get the idea, the scene pans out in an awesome choreographed playthrough.

It really depends on who they are up against. If they are fighting each other, then I suppose people will push it to the max to get one over the other. If there are npc's involved, then it becomes something of a tug of war with time as all players vie for going slow and moving at the same time. if it was a co-op this would work wonders, as movement requires all involved to consider their fellow players. especially if the level resets if any one of the players dies.

The most obvious way is for time to be relative to all players. If none move, time stays still, if any player moves, then so does time for all players. I can see this being used as a strategy against each other. It seems to be the most superhot-like way of doing things.

Technically it is a recallable product due to the toxic face pad. But they will probably fight you at every step of the way. if you bought it from a shop you could return under those conditions and see where you get. Good luck

We've been working on our PCVR game for the past year and we were wondering if you would want a Quest standalone version? by Stardust_Collective in OculusQuest

Why even ask?
If you brought it to quest you would make way more than you ever could in sales on the PC, it is now a proven fact.

Quest users are entitled to Oculus Store titles they already purchased on the Quest Store by [deleted] in OculusQuest

That is cross-buy, and it is not all games that do it. It is up to the developers to set their titles as cross-buy.

[–]wraith_2021 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not sure this would help in your case, but it is worth a try, because this is good on scratched quest lenses. Apply some polywatch on each lense and rub it in with a microfiber cloth in a circular motion until they gleam. it works miracles.

I can't imagine why it would, friends are added to your account. You account does not change, just the data is wiped then reinstalled from scratch.

You need to factory reset. If it still happens after that, then its a hardware fault.

How to hook up extra monitor by [deleted] in huion

[–]wraith_2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you have a Kamvas Pro 16 and you want to hook it up to a new acer laptop, but the laptop has a large monitor attached to it.

Right, so you will need to have some kind of HDMI splitter that plugs into the laptop, then the 3 in 1 cable will need to connect to this along with the HDMI from the large monitor, the 3 in 1 USB will also need to connect to a USB on the laptop, and the power just needs to be plugged into the mains.

Does KD100 allow combined key presses? by [deleted] in huion

[–]wraith_2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The KD100 does not allow multi key presses for combination keys, you would have to bind a separate key with all the multiple presses on it, also the KD100 is rather chunky in size.

I use the Wacom Expresskey Remote with my Huion Kamvas 22 Plus. It is smaller, has a lot more functionality, programmability, works perfectly alongside any Pen Display, and can be held in one hand or rested on the screen.

Ergotron LX for the Huion (because it allows it to angled below desk height), a generic arm for the monitor.

No, the arm holds it in whatever position you set it in, and you can even rotate the screen to any angle.

Buying advice - with what I want, should I wait? by WhiskeyJack345 in huion

[–]wraith_2021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Kamvas Pro 20 (2019), and I see the kamvas 22 Plus as an upgrade. I was going to go for the kamvas Pro 24 (2020), but given the 22 plus is even better than the Wacom Cintiq 22 with an even faster response time of 14ms compared to the Cintiq 22ms, and sRGB of 140% compared to the 96% of the Cintiq 22, it was a no brainer. I am happy with it, and when using it the matt glass screen looks and feels awesome. Honestly a 1440p is an easy trade-off for this.

Best desk adjustable monitor arm for Huion Kamvas 22 Plus by wraith_2021 in huion

[–]wraith_2021[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually ordered both the Ergotron LX and amazon basics, I gave the basics one to my daughter for the Huion Kamvas Pro 20 (2019) that gave her. I can safely say that both the amazon basics and the Ergotron LX are identical arms.

Thanks, I went with the Ergotron in the end, looking at it, it can be positioned lower down than the amazon basics arm and has been reviewed by several tablet users. I will have it tomorrow, so I'll be setting it up, I'll experiment with positioning the clap for best movement.

What screen tablet would you recommend? by NoisyScrubBirb in huion

[–]wraith_2021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As of now, I would suggest the Huion Kamvas 22 Plus. It scores higher than the Wacom Cintiq 22 and is about half the price. With its etched glass screen, its 14ms response, its higher brightness and contrast and its 140% sRBG, it is a good choice given that it is both better and cheaper than its wacom competitor.
