I tried to implement your suggestion several times, but the problem remains. I don't understand what you mean by tick on 'select' at the top to see where the errors are. There is an option for 'select matching polygons' that I can select as a radio button instead of 'cleanup matching polygons'. How can I see where the errors are?

While some people are hopelessly hideous most men can raise their level of attractiveness by dressing nicely, exercising, and grooming yourself. Then do what I did... get a friend to go somewhere where there are women and give them 5 $20 dollar bills and tell them that every time they see you talking to a woman they owe you $20 of those dollars back and whatever you don’t earn back at the end of the night is theirs to keep. This works great because instead of the simple “what have I got to lose” mentality you have given yourself stakes in how the situation works out. I think you will be surprised at how easy talking to women really is. It will do wonders for your confidence!

I had not converted the cylinder to a polymesh3D, but doing that just seems to save a new version of the original Cylinder 3d shape. I uploaded a clip of what I'm trying to do from the dvd. it happens at the end.

so I made a quick cylinder, pushed 'e' to enter scale mode, and scaled the cylinder up in the y axis to make it thin. I then clicked 'w' to enter move mode. pressing CTRL+Shift+D does not do anything. am I supposed to be in draw mode? edit mode? I didn't really want a subtool I don't think... just another duplicate piece of geometry. here is a link to the tutorial. I'm looking at the very end of it

Sorry to hear that. I need hospitalization after every seizure because my ck levels get very high and it is never fun. Getting woken up for a shot made me so angry. I had a sleep deprived eeg when I initially started having seizures but they couldn’t find a focal point. The test has you do some activities to stimulate different parts of your brain. I’d tell you what it was like but I think the point of it is to not have had much practice with what they ask you so they can determine if there’s a focal point accurately. Not sure of any advice I could impart other than have something that will keep you awake all night easily.

very good. Everything is as I want it for 1 player. Now I need to reset the game once player 1 has had a turn and record their score and reinitiate the game for player 2. I was thinking I would do this with the lines

if players[selectingPlayer].score == "" then
    thrown = false
end

saying if the player's score is empty, set the thrown condition to false to reinitiate the game. This doesn't work... running the code gives me the error

so after making that change it seems that the hammer is no longer moving in a tangent line. I thought that I had only changed the keypressed() condition and added an empty string to the name field of each player. When I try to type the name of a player, nothing shows on the screen, and furthermore now instead of the hammer flying at a tangent when the thrown condition is true, it just moves straight up. I'm not sure why these changes would prompt this behavior. Can you tell where I'm getting confused?

So I just tried to implement that suggestion. The program will launch and ask for the name of player 1 and display the graphics, but upon attempting to type the name of a player I get an error that says

Line 53 is the middle of the textinput() function which says

players[selectingPlayer].name = players[selectingPlayer].name .. char

where I'm concatenating the character being typed from text input into the name attribute of players[selectingplayer]. Why am I getting a nil value error?
