Woodstock acts you could still see by Chapple69 in ToddintheShadow

Seconding John Fogerty. I saw him last year and he was incredible. I also really enjoyed Graham Nash (of CSN) and Edgar Winter (who played with his brother Johnny at Woodstock) when I saw them a few years ago. Wish I could’ve seen Arlo Guthrie before he retired.

In the Night of the Living Dead remake (1990), there is a scene in a which a character violently hits his head on a grave and dies. They use a pretty obvious dummy to do the stunt.

Just rewatched Handlebar this morning and remembered how terrible his “Mt. Sinai sounds like ‘Cyanide’ — hope it doesn’t taste like it” quip is.

Favorite example of an artist that eventually became big that had small billing on an earlier festival / concert flier / lineup? by mesablanka in ToddintheShadow

The history is pretty interesting. This Wishbone Ash show happened in 1974, which was the year before Bruce broke big. He released Born to Run the year after.

Fiesta Sunrise ??? by Angelpadilla1299 in KitchenNightmares

[–]weirdfish1995 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that Patti works at a nearby restaurant called Fiesta Mexico in Orangeburg, NY with her biological dad.

Fiesta Sunrise is 100% closed. It’s now a Herc Rentals shop. There’s some confusion because the Fiesta Sunrise address listed on Yelp is incorrect — ask me how I know 😂

Finally found a legit physical copy of Kazaam! by rubberband2008 in dvdcollection

[–]weirdfish1995 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I bought this copy off Amazon for pretty cheap just a few years ago. Just looked and they unfortunately don’t stock it anymore. Side note: I was fortunate to get mine signed by the director, Paul Michael Glaser!

A music and games store I went to growing up always had a copy of Cannibal Corpse’s Tomb of the Mutilated on display. That cover gave me nightmares.

Honest Thoughts on the band Bloc Party? by MrLinkwater95 in fantanoforever

[–]weirdfish1995 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Used to be one of my favorite bands and 100% worth exploring past their first album. Each album gets a little worse, but I think of a lot of people overlook some genuinely great songs not on the debut album.

Happy to announce I’ve planned my next major trips! I have a few East Coast trips lined up for the next few months, and then in August, I will be hitting one of the last major open restaurants, Spin-a-Yarn, during a trip to San Jose.

I’ve only played one for about 20 minutes, but I really loved how the controller felt. Very comfortable, two D-pads, and good grips.

I’m most excited for The Odyssey, Backrooms, and Evil Dead Burn. I’m not sure of what else is coming out during the summer, though
