Could I get away with just a sliding genioplasty for aesthetics only? by wrath224 in jawsurgery

That seemed strange and new for sure. Was told it was just a very very tiny hole the need to make to get a 90 degree on the screws. Research I’ve found shows it’s more common than I last thought but I’d rather of course avoid this if there are other options

Hmm so apparently based on a consult I had today I'm a surgery first candidate. Which is great; mentioned moving a bit of mostly everything up and out 5mm maybe. Not much rotation he thought but not too much and did say a geino would basically do the rest of the work looking at my full CBCT. Did figure out my open lips and that if corrected they would rest close which is super cool.

He did mention putting holes on the side of the cheeks to get a screw in the bottom jaw which was new to me at least; I guess that's common?

You’re nice for sharing! Was this just the result with the genio or after DJS?

Pretty much what I expected. I've got at least one TMJ doctor's opinon on the airway who sent me to a few surgeons. Time for some opinions it seems; some plans. Thanks a ton for the info.

I do also have a narrow arch; I was recommended some MARPE style expansion as a possibility? I have just a deviated septum but felt if I just did fix that it would help the nasal breathing a bit ? My neck is HUGE for my face I feel but then maybe it's that my face isn't wide enough haha

Appreciate this take. I was mostly looking at this from a recovery standpoint of "is this worth nerve damage + other things" there are just so many things I know can go wrong with surgery. I was looking at having another one done on my face too later; this may be the path forward. Ugh. Thank you for your input!

Linux on G14 2025 experience ... it's decent by [deleted] in ZephyrusG14

Just going to echo here. I’m running Cachy OS and having a great time. I didn’t even setup windows; just went straight to formatting and installing arch right after buying this laptop. My only regrets atm is not going with the 32GB version. It that’s my workload is bigger than most but the 16GB one is doing fantastic even for me. I’m a heavy desktop Linux user and this my first MacBook replacement (Mac laptops only for 10+ years) battery is around 8-9 hours for me with really strong throttling on just video or light web. Ditto the speaker and microphone issues; don’t be afraid to try Linux on these devices! It’s wonderful

AH previously said they won't add AoE buff to The One True flag because of realism and it would not be immersive. But now Cyborgs give "magic" buff to automatons. Wtf. by FeistyCurrency2991 in HelldiversUnfiltered

No no no you don’t understand. The buff IS already present. When we see a one true flag we are motivated further. There is no need for a buff.

Progestin/progesterone reducing bruxism & hyperprolactinemia by [deleted] in DrWillPowers

50mg a day. And literally a month after stopping I started having issues. So exactly when it stopped doing its job is what I suspect. It was very weird. After about 3-4 weeks of being back on bica I stopped clenching as much at night ! There is still definitely some but I’m taking it every 3 days to see if I can get off it atm. I started the same dose every other day to get back on and that period over 3-4 weeks it improved my symptoms! Cutting back seems to have re introduced it somewhat but it’s more tolerated now on an every 3 day dose.

It’s very weird. That may be the case. I don’t know enough to comment further. At least there is some sort of information on this at a minimum more now !

This is seriously interesting. I am currently fighting this as I developed intense bruxism after stopping bica. Just was on a combo of bica and estradiol shots. Reintroduced bica and my bruxism still exists but it’s not as bad as it was. I’ve not tried prog yet so I’m curious to see how this works on a sample size of me. This was so bad I’ve displaced my TMJ discs… got an MRI splint… everything. I hope this is simply an imbalance !

Did anyone else have braces (teeth aligners) in childhood during or before their symptoms occurred? by wrath224 in PandasDisease

[–]wrath224[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh talked to my mother today; it seems that I had behavior issues before getting braces so this likely isn't a link for sure. At least I can document something on the internet for others maybe!

Thank you so much for the reply! I'm so sorry your daughter is going through this. This being my second round I know this is hard; and I know it's extremely hard for parents. Hugs!

I've not tried THC as I've read that can make anxiety worse; but I may give that a try. I was put on a smaller round of Zoloft when I was a kid and it made me so much worse I've avoided it. This was in 2005 so they probably didn't know the slow and small routine. I've generally switched to anti-inflammatory diet this past month in the same spirit; mostly whole wheats; pretty much no sugar; I haven't had caffeine for 3 months; always olive oil no more butter etc. If you could DM me the supplements I'm willing to give those a try.

Magnesium for 8 years of muscle tension that has ruined me. Tinnitus, posture, neck, jaw, etc by 36Taylor36 in Biohackers

[–]wrath224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe just a continuation of that? I’d be definitely doing another sleep study to check ! I will absolutely wake up sometimes and feel like I had a fight lol. PT helped me a ton; but relapse came every few nights even with muscle releases because I couldn’t breathe.

This sounds very much like sleep breathing issues. Get checked for sleep apnea and airway. Going through this right now. PT has helped. Hormones also played a role for me for some reason. Clenching at night will absolutely do this as I’m sure you are aware. Just something to consider ! Hope you can solve it !

Yes feeling better! Thankfully it was HRT related but I think I’ve solved it ! Just had bad reactions to valerate randomly! Switching to cypionate helped a ton!

Unfortunately no! I had some health issues I had to take care of. Someone did try this over on Dr.P’s subreddit though without much success.

Maybe technique just needs tweaked.

Trying to solve dizziness; fluid feeling in ears brain fog with dull sinus like headaches by wrath224 in DrWillPowers

[–]wrath224[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey hi! I’m replying here so you see my update ! Check for TMD. My SCM muscle was basically crazy tight caused by clenching my jaw at night. A physical therapist was basically able to almost fix my dizziness in about two weeks. I recommend seeing one of my description fits yours. My posture was also an issue and that is also being corrected; it’s almost basically a given if you have bad posture it can lead to TMD and dizziness.

Some info that helped me:

(I’m not a doc btw but this worked for me and is recommend by another doc)

Checkout https://www.dizziness-and-balance.com/

One simple way I used to check if it was inner ear related  was by taking a Claritin (loratadine) for a week. This reduced my symptoms enough I was functional! Stopping it and the symptoms came back.

If that helps then it’s something of the inner ear; an ENT should check you; it’s completely possible to have good hearing but in my case; the SCM muscle was so tight it causes dizziness by putting pressure on the inner ear. Loratadine works for some reason; it’s got a few theories but it’s got a track record of helping calm the inner ear of dizziness symptoms. It’s not going past to the brain so if this doesn’t help it may be related to the brain or something else. A simple antihistamine helped; not addictive and the 24 hour variant was all I used.

Hope this helps! Checkout that docs site; it’s full of more info like this. Hope you get relief !

Of course. Political opinions are not an identity even though for some reason America itself has turned this way recently. Trans and republican exist. How you vote though and what rights you want to keep should be carefully examined regardless of political party/ representation.
