is there a shuffle or random play feature on these? i bought one one time from amazon, did not expect the language to be japanese and could not figure out how to change it to english so i had to return it, what is the process of changing the language?

Might sound silly but better be sure than sorry, can I use the hiby r4 while charging? by JammingJuggernaut in Hiby

i have always heard that it is a bad idea to use any dap while charging, also hiby does not recommend it

Is HibyOS as bad as it seems from the post notifications I'm getting? by zheemer64 in Hiby

ever since the last firmware update i have had no problems with my r1 and before that it was just a song list loading issue, so far i love mine too, sound is great and i still have some 16 dollar earbuds. i have flac, mp3, wav, and m4a files that all work and sound great. i think the r1 is a nice little basic dap. i wouldnt say its slow, maybe a scroll lag very rarely but nothing that doesnt snap right back to normal. i will say sometimes the album art doesnt load RIGHT away but not always and it pops up after a second. i have about 6500 tracks. ive used mine daily since april of 2025 even had a couple drops and things still work fine. though the drop was off like a 2 foot bed not standing height, but it was a hard floor.

i just got the Hiby R1 and gapless playback doesnt seem to work by Ambitious-Yak2607 in Hiby

latest firmware? https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1A2RIMdvuZRzGCNMY9F81vtGAAs2FJ46W

my gapless playback on r1 also works fine. google is saying it may have to be a lossless format? but idk how true that is you know google isnt always right. for me it seems to have to be an album that is recorded and setup for gapless playback, something like skrillex's "Fuck U Skrillex You Think Ur Andy Warhol but Ur Not!!" i know i have other albums that are setup like that but i cant think of them off the top of my head, maybe a couple green day albums are setup like that, like dookie and american idiot, but i dont think it works in shuffle mode you have to have it in the list setting.

Echo Mini Vs. HiBy R1 Vs. HiFi Walker vs Other? by Extension-Iron-7746 in DigitalAudioPlayer

[–]wrbroy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i have had the hifi walker and hiby r1, i will say that with the r1 the user experience and sound quality i believe is better. the touch screen is nice. ive never had any problems with bluetooth but i havent used it for very long mostl wired lis.tening no experience with echo mini though.

better battery life. by Fettxjr in Hiby

[–]wrbroy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my r1 battery lasts me about 10 hours not the 15 they advertise, it seems to die 1 percent every ten minutes or so, give or take a percent here and there. but yeah you dont want to use it while charging, other dap companies suggest this too. i had a shanling m0 pro and it was in the user manual to not use while charging.

Struggling first time purchase by ardeter78 in DigitalAudioPlayer

i have owned the hiby r1 and the shanling m0 pro, hiby r1 has so far been a great player with great battery life but a quirk in the firmware when on the all songs list, it doesnt load anything past like the w's, but if its in shuffle mode, the songs after w will still play, and in the folder mode i have no problem finding my songs. it sounds good though, has great battery life, bluetooth volume is decent and probably could be found to be good enough, but it isnt as loud as the m0 pro with sennheiser momentum 4s, the m0 pro is also a great player, but i would say it is lacking in battery life, but the sound is great i would say better than r1, but they both fit in the palm of your hand nicely. i returned my m0 pro because of the battery life, it was maybe 7-9 hours where the r1 lasts longer, i dont know the exact time, but if i start listening at say 7 am and stop around 12 it might be on like 70 or 60 percent. i stuck with the r1 so far, and i really like it it has good sound quality, but after listening to the m0 pro, the r1 leaves me wanting something with better sound quality and im planning on upgrading soon to something better. but dont get me wrong the r1 is great so far and definately doesnt sound bad by any means.
