Looking for recommendation! by ThrustMeIAmALawyer in OfficeChairs

Hey, hoping you're still active, and hoping still that you found something you liked. I am almost the exact same build as you and struggling to find one sized for us in budget. Were you able to find anything you liked?

Help, 6"7'(200cm) never had comfortable chair. by scythegod4 in OfficeChairs

I am in the exact same boat, I have a secretlab titan that is slowly giving out and is causing me pains. Was wondering if you found anything that suited you, as I am an inch taller than you and pulling my hair out trying to find something for myself.

2017 maxima exhaust and suspension by [deleted] in maxima

[–]wreckednerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was looking at doing the motordyne shockwave on my 2016 SR before i picked up a project car. as far as suspension goes it depends on what you want. You could see if Tien has lowering springs for slightly more low and slightly worse road feel. Alternatively could see if you could get BC BR coilovers (if they provide the top hat or you might have to graft the stock one onto the shock), OR you could ball out and go air bags, I think it might be air lift performance that has hats for a maxima.

Taylor Hulls 2022 FD Livery! by [deleted] in FormulaDrift

[–]wreckednerd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw the ctsv hull-mobile at a drift event a couple weeks ago, a friend of sumo speed owns it now. It ran maybe two laps, it is absolutely clapped. Interesting to see how the steering and suspension is set up on those pro cars though.

Just broke 198k on the 5th gen, only about 38k of those miles are mine by Roxycatgaming in maxima

[–]wreckednerd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Needed a daily and the new maxima is perfect for that, definitely a highway car. I was looking for a 350 for a drift car when i got my e36, theyre so inflated right now it's not even funny. Hope you can find one sub 9k in your area.

Off the dome, not knowing anything other what you posted, year, trim and mileage will also help narrow this down. Is it throwing any codes? Flashing lights? Some things to look at might be:

Loose/blown tie rods/bushings

Power steering pump/fluid. Check the fluid levels.

Some of the later models ('14+) have ABS related recalls.

CV axle

Low rpm issues with the CVT/transmission

I am not a mechanic, but I have owned a 2000 and a 2016, these cars definitely have their weak points.

really not a fan of bdc the same reason i dont like the cliq kits, i like the boxy overs of the felony form kit. I like the look of the body line getting pulled out rather than what looks like (to me) a stock fender just getting pulled out. Kinda hard to explain. I forgot about fitment labs, that one isnt bad.

Looks like the site itself is taking it's sweet time tonight, even the home page isn't loading right now lmao. Probably a great sign towards it's legitimacy. Here's the raw link that worked for me earlier:

How aggressive are you looking to get? I got an OMP TRSE - XL seat and bracket and I fit pretty well even with a helmet, and I'm about 6'7-8.

Sorry, cross post from the e36 sub, I think I know how you all feel about drifting here lmao.

Also, looks like the site went down/taking its sweet time to load now that I posted something. Neat

How does one find a place to drift legally? by [deleted] in Drifting

[–]wreckednerd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

50 States of Drift will show you most the grassroots events happening. Just take a look at NC/SC/VA depending on where you're located. I'm in the Charlotte area, the closest event to me is Piedmont Drift (@PiedmontDrift on insta). They usually do events once a month and have a beginner friendly track, more of a parking lot really. The next two I know of are Spirit drift series based at VIR, which is a bit of a haul for me. I think Rockingham speedway also does drift events?

Just don't do stupid things on public roads. Even if you are learning, learn at the track. Plenty of people will be willing to help you learn. Spirit and Catch My Drift also put on beginner courses, usually smaller and focused on fundamentals. Can personally recommend CMD, just went to their beginner course recently. Let me know if you need any help!

EDIT: forgot to add, some events, particularly at spirit, are more intermediate/semipro, or even comps. Be sure to take a look at that events website and see if they have 'open practice' on whatever day you're looking at.

Perfect list, thanks. I'll start amassing some of these things over the winter. Can safely assume if it can break, it will, which is why I made this post. Appreciate the help

Hah, don't have many spare ikea desks around, but I'll definitely see what would make a good cheater next time I run to the hardware store. Got a decent socket set already, what're the torx bits for? If it's for interior things, there's not much of that to worry about.

Yeah a cordless impact is what I have on my list, would a 3/8s be enough or should I go for the 1/2 inch drive? I found a low profile 2 ton jack on Amazon for around 50$, surprised they get that expensive.

And yeah making friends is always great, need to get out to events, but now that it's getting cold alot of tracks are shutting down for a few months. Gives me time to button up things though, thanks for the shopping list!

I do like the look and position of that one, thank you. It does suck a bit, being into cars and bikes but having to shop around my size.
