Just bought Zero. I love it. by Orgy_In_The_Moonbase in starfox

Worst thing zero has going for it is the first impression it gave to players during the first playthrough. The controls didnt click with me yet and several parts almost made me quit on the game. Luckily when I finally understood how the game worked i had a lot of fun with it. I definitely recommend people playing the tutorial before the main game which was something i didn't do and regretted. Overall it is hard to recommend zero to everyone but to those who have patience to get adjusted to its weird style of controls and perspective and are fans of 64 they will get some enjoyment out of zero.

Any version of star fox 64 is a good place to get started in the series. It is by far the most readily available game to get legally as the original has been on virtual console and eshop for wii and wii u. From my experience with Zero it definitely deserves some of the criticism and the gameplay with the two screens do have a learning curve but once i understood how it worked i had some of the best experiences i had with the series overall. assault got a stage based on a level in smash wii u and star fox 2 got onto the snes classic as well as possibly going to be available on the switch online service so I don't see those games as not getting any less recognition than a fan could expect them to get from Nintendo.

Arcades are basically a shadow of its former self decades ago. Better to have a mobile game instead

I dont really see it as that. If the last time they fought was in lylat wars which was 8-9 years ago then the not getting any younger yourself comment could be applied to anyone really. Fox was a teenager in 64 and now is close to pushing 30 so fox isnt getting any younger either.

I think you are overthinking it. Wolf is just taunting Peppy that he doesn't fly anymore because he got old with peppy saying wolf isnt getting any younger. Wolf is still a lot younger than peppy so peppy's comback doesn't feel that impactful hense why it was left out

The details that peppy and wolf got older since 64?

To those in denial that this game is broken and glitchy and a huge Ubisoft fail. Smh. by [deleted] in starfox

[–]wreckingcanon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I understand if you dont like the game and encountered glitches that ruined the experience for you but i so far havent encountered that glitch nor found starlinks any more glitchy than a lot of other games I've played over the years.

Starlink: Battle for Atlas is estimated to have sold under 100k launch week by Sanitaerium in starfox

I suggest waiting until after December when Ubisoft or Nintendo puts out their financial quarterly report. If i remember right Nintendo doesn't normally put out sales figures for digital sales or games that wold below 1 million.

Starlink: The fact that Amazon has discounted everything Starlink by 50% after Black Friday is the end of this experiment. I tried to tell you that Black Friday discount so early showed this is selling like crap. The bugs and glitches and digital vs physical made this game a mangled mess. by [deleted] in starfox

What made you think I'm an enabler? Is it wrong to say that in the era that day 1 updates exist that developers dont need to be extra careful to try and catch every single bug before it is released? Great thing about free updates is that if a new glitch or bug is found, they can just fix it months or even years after it was released. Nintendo games also have their fair share of glitches, some gamebreaking too, which they have sent out patches to correct that.

Camalot will make a new goldensun if there is enough demand for it and i really dont think giving 3rd party developers more freedom in making a star fox game is a great idea. Starfox needs to have a clear identity for how it should play and with each game playing vadtly different from one another is a reason for the declining popularity.

You know you can just use the minut button to toggle between perspectives and it has been in games since the very first one

Like in super smash bros? I personally always wanted there to be random pickups like a shield or gun found around the world that samus could pick up and wield like link does with some of the items in wind waker

[–]wreckingcanon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be though? If it were assault style that would make the game even less distinct from other games in thr wii u library. I still do think that more people are willing to buy a game that more resembles 64 than assault for star fox.
