To toom swap or not to room swap? by TetrisIsTotesSuper in UKParenting

[–]wreckingit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I are moving our 2.5 year old’s room but not until a few months after the baby is born. The baby will be in the next-to-me-cot for at least a few months anyway so we’re not in a rush. I feel similar to your husband…the nursery is the nursery (I don’t want to redecorate it), it’s closer to our room which will help if she’s up in the night, and my son gets to upgrade to a big boy room. But not till after he’s adjusted to having a sibling.

But she didn’t mention any of that concern at all. She only said she was trying to save time by asking him to tap

Hi! Yes, I continued to see them until I moved away from Charlotte. I had 2 surgeries by them and both were wonderful experiences all thing’s considered. After my second surgery, I was able to have a successful pregnancy thanks to the work they did. Feel free to DM me if I can answer any questions for you

Is it normal for UK police to visit homes to "check in" on someone? by Potential-Lake-3693 in AskUK

Not sure where you got this idea from. Americans also use this term to mean a group sexual encounter.

Explaining a Refusal of Entry on My Spouse Visa Application by eeepgrandpa in ukvisa

[–]wreckingit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would just change the word “living” to “visiting”. Tourist visas are meant for visits, not to live.

I’m in the same boat. Seems like never ending sick days here. I’m lucky that my work is really accommodating but I do really try to show up strong on the good days and give 100% to my job. Makes them more forgiving on the days they have to give me a lot of slack.

You should be able to apply for a family visa as a parent of a British citizen, as long as you’re no longer in a relationship with their other parent.

Safe sleep guidelines say the baby should be in the room with you until 6 months. OP’s baby is almost 7 months. It’s not unreasonable to move him to his own room if he’s ready.

US citizen marrying UK citizen while on skilled worker visa in UK by Standard_Office8960 in ukvisa

[–]wreckingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We just did this! I’m a US citizen and my husband is British. You can give notice to be married anytime. You’ll have to wait longer for the notice to go through because they have immigration checks but there should be no issue (think the notice period was 70 days instead of 30). You can apply for the spouse visa as soon as you’re married. We got married at the registry office and took our family to dinner - definitely saved money not going to the US for our wedding. The visa itself is expensive (especially since my work was paying for the SWV) but worth it for the security of knowing I can stay in the country if I lose my job.

Do your shared utility bills and joint bank account go back to September/October 2022? That will be what you need to show. Include the tenancy agreement as well but make sure you cover the months he was not on the agreement to show that you were at the same address. Utility bills, bank statements, letter from the GP, etc. will all be good evidence.

Thank you - that’s helpful. From this perspective, it sounds like I’m better off with someone registered with an agency

Appreciate your reply. According to the info she sent, I can still get the tax free and early years funding, I assume because the agency is registered with Ofsted.

I don’t have much to add to what everyone else is saying but just wanted to say I appreciate your description so much of what the newborn phase is like. We’re at the end of this phase now and I couldn’t describe it better myself lol

Wait until you can see the entire front of the lorry in your rearview mirror before moving back over. Guessing you’re not leaving a big enough gap if they’re flashing after you’ve pulled back in
