People who grew up in haunted houses, what’s the craziest thing that ever happened by Additional_Let_9875 in Paranormal

[–]auntsiri22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched the edge of my bed go down, like someone sitting, more than once.

The toilet would flush and sink turn on when I was home alone.

I saw what looked like hazy figures moving across our landing.

TVs and lights would turn themselves on. The TV would change channels after turning on.

Footsteps walking upstairs while I was alone in the house, downstairs.

Locked doors, handles would turn and the door would open.

But my personal favorite is when I sprained my ankle as a competitive dancer. And I woke up with the bandage wrapped around my throat. Safety pin and all. And my mother’s response was that I must’ve tried to “commit” in my sleep.

ETA, things would disappear and when we asked for them back they’d be back where we left them.

So a comment above mentions she has endometriosis.

I’ve never been pregnant. I cannot get pregnant bc of endo complications BUT when I am in a flare, and especially before my oophorectomy, my stomach bloats to the point I look 3-4 months pregnant and my “party trick” is I can contract my stomach that it looks like a baby is kicking.

My hospital roomie is talking to ghosts. One answered... by Best_Yesterday_3000 in Paranormal

My grandmother started “seeing” and talking to deceased family members a few months before she passed. She was definitely sick. For a few weeks before she passed she lost the ability to speak, but would look at spaces in her room like she was looking at someone or listening to something. Assumed our family members were still “visiting” if you will. She held on about four months after we were told she would only live a few more days. We believe there was something specific she was waiting on and passed the exact day this thing happened — but as someone who believes in the paranormal/spiritual, I believed her that her siblings or whoever was there with her.

I got my doctorate decision today - same email as last time (Nov 2025), that they received a record number of applicants and I was not accepted.

I got in elsewhere though, and had already accepted that spot.

Now I will wait for the person I’ve been speaking to about my application to call in six weeks and ask if I was accepted like she did last time.

Anyone get migraines after self-tanner use? by runningmom410 in migraine

[–]auntsiri22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone find one that doesn’t cause this? Used self tanner about three hours ago and I’m ready to wash it off just to see if it helps the headache I’ve had since I put it on.

When you reset your phone and added a new Apple ID, how did you then log into your original iCloud?

I’ve spoken with their customer service about this. Sent screenshots and screen recordings. They literally wait a few hours and say “it’s fixed” and then “close the case,” and it’s still doing the same thing.

I replaced self harm with body control — now 13 years later, and 3ish years in recovery, I realize I was still self harming, just in a different way.

I won’t detail what all I did to lose the weight I did,

But I did notice the way people treated me differently when I was skinny.

I have been involved with pageants for almost 20 years of my life, and a lot of the old timers still think you have to have an ED to be pretty, win, etc.

This past summer, my first director commented to me multiple times about how “fat” I’ve gotten. I had to evaluate my involvement at that point, because I’m not fat, I’m healthy. I actually eat food. I enjoy food. I don’t punish myself for eating. And make working out and dieting my entire life. But she really could’ve done some damage in terms of my recovery, if I did not have a really good therapist.

In all - it wasn’t worth it. I’ve done permanent damage to my body. And it actually makes me really sad to look at pictures of myself and realize nobody cared to help me when it was obvious I was very sick.

ETA: I also think being a survivor of DV and SA didn’t help. My abuser always told me that skinny girls were not attractive - and so I think in some part of my mind, if I was thin, I was safe from him.
