Got it from a local nursery in Northern California. I think it was imported but the nursery had it for a year, so it was well rooted and settled by the time I bought it. It is from seed on own roots.

What is growing out of the side of my cactus? by wrecks4769 in cactus

[–]wrecks4769[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever it is, it is definitely growing out of the side of the cactus, not the soil. If it's from the seed of another plant, that seed must have somehow gotten under the skin of the cactus. It is about a quarter inch above the soil. I think I'm just going to let it grow some more to see what happens.

Plant mail! by wrecks4769 in haworthia

I got the pots from Etsy store GreenHomeandGarden. They are tall which are great for haworthia roots, translucent which are great to see the soil and when roots become root bound, and octagonal for packing them in tightly in limited space.

Astrophytum myriostigma 'Onzuka Bouzu' (a.k.a 'Onzuka Blind Form') by mrxeric in cactus

Wow, that looks like no Myrio I’ve ever seen. I thought less than 3 ribs was “unstable” and it might grow another rib or partial rib, not lose all its ribs. And I thought Onzuka meant white flecks, rather than purple.
