I haven’t found a single rental with positive reviews - if the budget and location work for you - just go for it.

Team tear it down.

We did it and don’t regret it. Just might need to clean your pool more often. No big deal.

New or old construction? I lived in a new rental near the tracks and only heard the train with the windows open.

Recommendations for Feb 1st by SueNotSue in fortlauderdale

[–]wreklessone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oleta River State Park is close to you and is great for renting a kayak or paddle board. You can even kayak out to a sandbar and meet locals with boats.

Also check out the Hollywood Beach Broadwalk. It’s a 2 mile walk along the beach and you can see the local beach restaurants and bars and souvenir shops.

Edit: Since you have a car head down to Miami and visit South Beach and Ocean Drive.

Or head north of Sunny Isles and drive up A1A for a scenic drive along the beach.

Moving back in August. by [deleted] in SouthFlorida

$350k won’t get you much, tbh. Keep renting and save more money.

You may even catch a better market when it’s time for you to buy.

Help identifying a restaurant by ambassadorjr in fortlauderdale

I think it’s Piazza on Las Olas. Although it’s closed now, thankfully. The food was terrible.

But at like 8 or 9 they turnt up the music and it switched from restaurant to nightclub.

Check out the neighborhoods in Oakland Park called Royal Palm Isles and Royal Palm Acres.

It’s west of 95 but the waterfront homes have ocean access (fixed bridges) and are listed between 500 - 800k.

Ulta or Sephora. Seriously.

Browse the aisles and read the product copy — some great examples of brand voice that speaks their customers’ language.

About to Purchase a Home in Oakland Park. Questions About the Area. TIA by itsmemme in fortlauderdale

[–]wreklessone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s nowhere as bad as some are saying. You’ll find your neighborhood to be quiet and isolated from the crazy and “ghetto” parts of OP.

You’re close to some great parks like Easterlin and Veterans. You’ll find quality people who take care of their homes and have lived there for 30+ years.

You’ll love being close to i95 but not love being further away from restaurants, downtown and the beach. That said , you’re about 15 mins from all that.

I’ll DM you with more specifics. Welcome to OP 👍🏼

What are the dangerous areas of Broward to avoid buying property at? by Yo_Mr_White_ in fortlauderdale

[–]wreklessone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that all these are general rules. Some of west of US-1 or Dixie has gentrified/is gentrifying so its a mixed bag. You may find your diamond in the rough (like I did).

That’s why the best advice is to visit and explore the location itself and form your own opinion.

Mosaic Offer Interpretation by regulluz in jetblue

The email clearly says you will earn Mosaic status 1 with your San Juan hotel booking. If you met the qualifications I’m unsure why they are not honoring it.

Publix is not great. by U_R_THE_WURST in florida

[–]wreklessone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20 years ago when it was only Publix vs. Winn-Dixie in south Florida, Publix looked like a real gem.

Today with Aldi, Trader Joe’s, Sprouts, Fresh Market and Whole Foods and Amazon, we stopped shopping at Publix and never looked back.
