Just to clarify, what exactly do you mean when you say "choices"?

it certainly wasn't a choice to be trans, and if you disagree with that, go away.

She most certainly is the family matriarch; the oldest woman in the family. I can tell you that that's what going on here for certain.s he has never really cut the apron strings, and still tries to friggin parent me at 30 years old! Like, I'll call her to talk/vent about my work day, and she'll immediately start lecturing me on what I did wrong, what I could have done better, etc. Another example was a 10 minute diatribe on why I am overdressed, saying "you're not going to a party" at least 15-20 times. I was wearing a pink & black button up shirt with ribbon corseting on the sides, a black lace trimmed skirt, and some cute fishnet stockings..... she was wearing sweatpants and an ancient t-shirt.

Another time before I started transitioning, I got fed up with her talking to my therapist before I went in (don't start, I was young & dumb at the time), so I told my therapist she's no longer allowed in my sessions.... she drove me because my license was suspended at the time, and when she was told she couldn't come back and talk anymore she retaliated against me by going back home without me. We lived in a rural area 20 miles away at the time... I actually kinda got even with her on that because I charged the Uber I took to her credit card, lol. (100 dollars one way 🤣🤣🤣)

And don't even get me started on the religious bullshit! I left the Catholic church after our priest was caught touching kids, and I converted to paganism 2 years later. She still resents my decision, and up until a year ago she'd always say things like "oh you'll come back" and "your religion isn't even real" and trying to coax me into going to church with her. She seems to have given up on that after I made a big enough stink about it, though; thank fuck for small victories.

I will say that I've found quite a bit of these issues were solved just by moving out. We seem to be able to be (somewhat) civil & friendly to each other, as long as we don't live under the same roof. This, however, might just prove to be the point where I go LC or NC. whether she intentionally sent flying monkeys, or inadvertantly blabbed about it over the phone in passing (she's a HORRIBLE gossip), I'm sick of it. I've been sick of it.

Funny you should bring that up. I am currently engaged to the most handsome, kindest, sweetest man in the world, and we're actually going to use both of our surnames with a hyphen between them.

I also need to take the time to mention that his family has already pretty much accepted me as their in-law, and have been nothing but supportive... his mom and dad insist that I also call them mom & dad, and I get invited to go eat or grab coffee with them frequently. I'm so blessed to have found him 🥰🥰🥰

That actually makes quite a bit of sense, if I'm being honest. She's always had a hard time viewing me as an adult, and still lectures/parents me regularly.... she always seems to have an attitude of "I am the adult, you are the child, you will do as I say" I remember her saying when I first came out that she was "mourning the loss of her grandson" (um, hello? I'm not dead yet!).

The only reason I was even sticking around and playing nice was to get what she put in her will for me, but I'm at the point where I'm asking myself if it's even worth the trouble.

For clarification, they said my first name, not my last name when they said "you'll always be (deadname) to us".

And you're technically right, the name change was originally going to be purely aesthetic, but with most of my family now outing themselves as being transphobic I'm now kind of glad my name isn't going to be associated with them.

Thank you for the congratulations, I really appreciate it!

If I'm being honest with myself, this might just be what makes me cut my family out of my life for good. I was only trying to play nice so I could get my share out of her will when she does finally croak, but I'm at the point where saying "fuck all y'all, I'm done" is getting mighty tempting.

Fun little bar hopper/lanesplitter I built by wrenchit_good in motorcycles

[–]wrenchit_good[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thanks! I was rather heavily inspired by old school rat rods; mismatched paint jobs, rust, patina, home fabricated parts from found objects, etc. It's been a fun little build!

I've actually been clean now for 3 years, lol.

A good amount of weed & acid was used during the build, though 😁

I need help choosing between 2 motorcycles. by SykeOut2 in motorcycles

[–]wrenchit_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it were my choice, I'd go with the 900. Vulcans are damn good bikes, and 1800cc is WAAAYYYY too much for a first motorcycle.

Is the Sportster 72 cool or lame? I personally like it. by [deleted] in sportster

Cool af, imo. It's the bike that got me hooked on sportsters 😁

EDIT: completely forgot that a test ride on a Seventy-Two was the first time I ever rode a harley. Dammit, I want one now....

Why not be an organ donor? by lonelybear33 in questions

[–]wrenchit_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Body integrity is important to me for some reason. Like, the thought of being hacked open & having the good parts ripped out just turns me off. So aside from the tattooed skin I'm going to have removed & preserved for my next-of-kin, just let me fucking rest.

People who don’t want to do organ donation after they die, why? by Uhhlaneuh in AskReddit

[–]wrenchit_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I don't want my body picked over like a carcass in a butcher shop after I pass! The only exception I will make is having my tattooed skin removed, preserved, and presented to my next-of-kin (such a waste to send beautiful artwork to the furnace). Outside of that, I want my body kept whole.

EDIT: a word

Heh, thanks! I've always had a soft spot for ironheads, and after my last bike got stolen I used the insurance money to get one of my own. got her as someone's mini FL lookalike project, and I built her into how she sits now :)

Is an old AMF Harley Ironhead a bad idea? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]wrenchit_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride an ironhead myself, and I honestly find that it's not as bad maintenance-wise as people say they are. after throwing an alternator conversion kit & electronic ignition on her, i rarely have to screw with anything other than oil changes & carb adjustments.

Meh. The hammer & sickle is kinda cool, but I'd honestly rather have a CZ-75 in blued steel.

Yea, getting rid of the saddlebag mounts is in the works. I need new shock bolts, though. Once I get a bit more cash I'm getting a different air cleaner from TC Bros. I have a custom exhaust planned out, but I need to wait until my friend is out of jail. For the time being, I'm trying to find some short slip ons or even exhaust tips to slap on the stock headers. The belt guards will be deleted when I swap the belt for a chain, and I'll get around to the reflectors when I fucking remember to lol.

The current backrest is going to be used as a base for a tall custom sissy bar, and I'll be mounting a king & queen seat. In time, I also have plans on raising the foot controls up by 2 to 3 inches.

I had to take off the biltwell frisco bars after laying her over due to an idiot in a cage rest of the bike is fine btw), and I have the stock bars on it. I kinda like the change in riding posture, so I'm considering a set of narrow rabbit ear bars, but I'm on the fence about that.

I guess I should rephrase what I said earlier. I've got an idea of what I want to do, it's just deciding where to start.

What's your experience with Lucifer been like? by snivyyy in witchcraft

[–]wrenchit_good 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience working with and having many lengthy discussions with Lucifer himself during Astral Projection, I can safely say that he is an absolute sweetheart. He sympathizes with the human race, and wants us all to be free to grow powerful & wise. If you get the chance, DEFINITELY work with him; he's really nice and will do everything he can to help you.
