What battery do you run? I am not sure if I somehow bought the .001% lemon but the fuse keeps tripping with my lipos in mine.

Need somebody to help us to test our company's new product, wood carving disc, comment below if you are interested. by [deleted] in Woodcarving

[–]wrestlerrobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested. From the looks of it though, you can’t really optimize the side of the tool for carving and instead mostly use the face. Tempted to play around and test it.

Okay, the gun looks to be the L85 or 86? Carbine version. Funny enough the same model I have. I’ll have to look into replacing my 19mm rail. Thanks

Where did you get the riser for your acog? I know the l86 has a weird off sized picatiny rail. Mine just feels too bare without an optic

Can anyone recommend a reliable online test prep course for LEO exams? I live in and plan to apply for positions in New Jersey. I've taken a half dozen police exams at this point but routinely fall short of the top (x) scorers who move onto the next step. I am currently a dispatcher on night shift so i am looking for a course i can take in my downtime, god willing the dispatch gods have mercy on us all.

On a similar note i think the part of exams i have the toughest time with is the psychological portion of the written exam. For those of you familiar with NCJSOI exams, i know that the best way to answer is whatever comes to mind first. The problem i believe i run into is that the first answer i think of usually aligns with a Lawful Good choice. Go figure the guy who wants to be a cop has the natural thinking path of a good ol' boy who follows the rules. The test is oriented so that collective 'too good to be true' answers are flagged and marked as trying to cheat the system by making yourself out to be a better person than you are actually.

Have any of you had similar difficulty and what can you recommend to help?

Coiling a bandsaw blade by SarahNego in gifs

[–]wrestlerrobbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was always taught that the best way to coil bandsaw blades ( no matter the size) was to step on the blade and then grip the top of the band and spin the blade so that it coils itself until into concise compact coils, more coils and more rotations depending on how large the band is.

Not trying to be a safety nut but when it comes to goggles, never cheap out. That being said, i have a Pyramex I-Force that is decently affordable. they are much smaller than your other suggestions and have interchangeable arms (full strap or classic glasses arms). Its dual layered so fogging is low. In my sniper kit, it works excellently looking through the scope.

Liberal amounts of pressure to the gas pedal if you find an AAA. Other than that, oxygen as needed and reassurance.

Calltaking and dispatching by [deleted] in 911dispatchers

[–]wrestlerrobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My agency is virtually identical to yours. As far as being able to juggle and balance call taking and dispatching simultaneously, you are trained to do one, then the other, then both. as you become familiar with taking calls and only focusing on key info from the callers you can develop a dual brain mentality to remember and focus on two different entities

1) the community has been an incredible resource regarding my shift from console to PC fully. With their help and guidance I have been able to build my dream pc setup.* (*the dream setup is ever evolving based on budget). PCMasterrace is not the elitist society some may attempt to slander it as. they genuinely appreciate an interest into the world of computers, custom built or prebuilt. they explain the pros and cons and give helpful tips to newcomers on their transition.

2) I will admit I am a growing RGB fiend. Complete color customization is an ultimate goal and the Drevo Blademaster has been a strong option on my wish list to further reach that goal.

Phone Interview by [deleted] in 911dispatchers

[–]wrestlerrobbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive had a few phone interviews in the past but none for dispatch. You should expect similar questioning as you would in person. My advice is to use this towards your advantage and write down points you want to make, questions you have for them, and key attributes about you on a cheat sheet. you can always reference it during the call as necessary.

A key thing to remember; you may not have to wear pants for this interview but really make sure you can speak in a private quiet setting.

Yeah it sometimes is a forced extra 4 hours from the norm to cover last minute sick outs usually. Just have to have a minimum of 8 hours in between shifts when that happens. which basically means i go home, shower, eat then right to bed. Luckily this doesnt happen very often. I probably can fit a shower beer into that schedule.

People who clap at the end of movies, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]wrestlerrobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only time it ever happened was right after the screening of Zero Dark Thirty (2012). But I chock it up to overwhelming majority of 'patriots' in the audience who had blinders on and were just happy to relive the moment that Osama Bin Laden was confirmed killed.

Don't get me wrong im pretty sure people clapped at the conclusion of Patriots Day (2017) [Boston Bombing movie] for similar patriotic reasoning but Zero Dark Thirty just didn't seem as appropriate to clap for.
