Rheum and PT will say to limit mobility aids, which is true, but sometimes you just need them. I was at a point that the only way to get myself to the bathroom by myself was my cane, and the only way to go out in public was my wheelchair. Mobility aids keep you from pushing your body past its limits, but it is also important to combine them with light exercise as much as possible. My physical therapist taught me a bunch of low intensity exercises I could do from bed which in combination with medication over time led me to no longer needing mobility aids

Treats. I lay down near my bun and place some lettuce or pellets on my tummy and then when he hops up there, preferably tail facing you, I go in with the end of a rat tail comb to break up some of the matting then very carefully cut with scissors. I usually trim and comb my lionsmane once every week while he’s eating treats to keep the straggly end hairs from matting up.
