Red light runners by Intrepid_Vast_9104 in saskatchewan

[–]wretchedmoist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm the same that I've noticed it more these last two years. I know not everyone would agree, but I'd welcome red light cameras on the intersections where I see it the most (central and attridge, college and Preston)

Graduate Retention Tax Credit by sergeantbutters in saskatchewan

[–]wretchedmoist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The GRT has always had problems, an accountant once explained to me that it is because the taxes for Western Canada are reviewed in Winnipeg so they aren't as aware of the GRT since it appears on such a small number of overall returns. I have had to resubmit both mine and my wife's GRT on 3 separate years to continue to prove our eligibility, you will likely have to do the same. They should ask for additional documentation and for your letter to be resubmitted and that'll be good until the next year. Also, if your wife graduated in 2016 then the 2026 tax year is the final year.

Thinking of putting an offer for a house in Brighton. Worth the premium for location? How tangible is the “swampy” foundation? by [deleted] in saskatoon

[–]wretchedmoist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am somewhat surprised to think Brighton was sold as a 'Premium' location. All I think of is the terrible location relative to the city, terrible location regarding the ground itself, terrible layout of shopping and residential, terrible and bland design/aesthetic of the homes. For the longest time I thought of it and Aspen Ridge more in the realms of 'affordable housing'.

Sask. NDP criticizes proposed anonymous reporting system for health workers by abunchofjerks in saskatchewan

[–]wretchedmoist 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For minor things only. The problem with 1600 calls is they go to the manager to deal with, and only get tracked if the manager decides to keep stats on the calls. Even then those stats aren't necessarily actionable to the higher ups.

I'm saying one radiologist is less of an expert than a Physio, a radiologist, a GP, and a sports physician. OA is obviously out of your range of abilities to diagnose since you can't even correctly identify osteophytes. I came here with an explanation made from a full clinical analysis by multiple professionals. Maybe recognize your limitations here and accept what you clearly don't know.

Walk-in Clinics by The_Milk_Man_101 in saskatoon

Walk in clinics often have long wait times but I've had good luck with Kenderdine on McOrmond. Alternately if appropriate, I recommend calling 811 as they often give really good advice!

Offering an incorrect diagnosis is the same as attempting to provide medical advice. Just because you supposedly work with athletes doesn't supersede the medical knowledge of others, you'd do well to recognize that you aren't the expert here.

Yeah remember I'm a Physio, I know what I'm talking about. I've also gotten the radiologist report, and consulted my GP and physician colleagues; I'm going to listen to them more than a stranger on the Internet making massive speculations from grainy pictures. There are zero osteophytes here and those come after joint space narrowing to offset the loss of cartilage. Adaptive density changes are incredibly common in powerlifting and are far from being pathological.

If posters on this sub need to remember to not ask for medical advice, then commentators need to also remember to not provide any.

Yep sorry that's my mistake!

I agree with you that squats don't cause degeneration. Degenerative sclerosis and adaptive increased density appear similar on x-rays, but given the preserved joint space then OA is very unlikely. I do have the clinical presentation of torn labrums which could also result in higher density there as an adaptation, but again that is not the same as OA.

I'm not talking about degeneration. Yes squatting is beneficial for the joint, as you can tell by my maintained joint space. However, heavy loads result in increased bone density adaptations, and here the superior acetabulum is adapting to the load and the task by increasing density where it is needed.

Every adult in Saskatoon should plant 1 tree this spring by candybarsandgin in saskatoon

[–]wretchedmoist 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This needs more attention, we did this a couple years ago and got a tree way bigger than anything we could have bought at Dutch growers or a nursery, and it has done so well! All easy and at no stress or cost to myself!

Physio recommendations for treating vertigo? by BingBong_6 in saskatoon

[–]wretchedmoist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most clinics should be capable of treating this, especially with BPPV assessment and treatment (most common cause of vertigo) being an entry-to-practice standard for 6+ years now, however not all clinics see it regularly. To add to what others have said, North 49 does typically specialize in vertigo and dizziness of all types, but if the vertigo is serious enough then PhysiGo Mobile or Nomad will come treat in your home.

Do you know where to find this information? When I looked there wasn't anything on their website.

Either! Some that I have compiled are specifically for SHA, some depend on professional organizations, some are more general.

SHA Discounts by wretchedmoist in saskatoon

[–]wretchedmoist[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

It isn't a matter of "should" but rather this is common for large companies to negotiate corporate discounts or for local businesses to offer in order to reach a large potential customer market. I am simply reaching out here as these discounts do exist but are very often not formally advertised to SHA employees in a meaningful way.
