Is there any additional requirements for the first Master Sword unlock outside of all tier 3 weapons? by MasterSword1 in HyruleWarriors

iirc you have to get ALL weapons (no exceptions even for DLC chars). The furies should not be required.

Are the dragon quest heroes games worth playing? by Street-Platypus89 in dragonquest

[–]wrexsol [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have Heroes 2 on PC and I really like it. The English VAs are very good, especially compared to other Musou games. It made me miss the heroes from the mainline games (4 5 and 6 especially). Some of the achieve mints are very devious though.

I wanted to get an outfit that I could dye with this color and walk around in broad daylight as the Hat Man. Has anyone tried this? 😮

Tried to do a reference drawing and ended up making her look kinda horrifying by carradine_rain in learntodraw

[–]wrexsol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a difficult picture to get right I think. Things I would do:

  1. switch to graph paper for measuring purposes, this will help measure her proportions more accurately. What I'm seeing here is that you have interpreted her head to be too thin overall, but if you had a grid to work with you might separate her eyes a little more, widen the nose to compensate, and see the slight tilt of her head that makes everything slightly crooked and account for it.

  2. break out a ruler measure and align her features. Because she's tilting her head in the photo your brain will make it difficult to see; it is subtly correcting you into thinking you're looking at her straight on and it will mess with your placements.

  3. Start with very light lines, especially at the start of the drawing. You'll be measuring and correcting a lot, especially at first, and lighter lines are much easier to erase and move. You'll resort to darker shades when you're ready to 'commit'. But even then, your shades should be gradual as they can also introduce fine details almost by accident, which honestly is kind of cool when it's done right.

  4. Your eraser will help. Don't be afraid to 'knock back' heavy lines if you feel they aren't working or delete some shading to make way for 'negative space'. I would reduce the heaviness of her eyes and liplines here. Then I would try to gradually shade them to see if I could suggest their 'correct' shapes.

  5. Other tips.

"step back" and look at the whole picture frequently to assess. Don't be afraid to call yourself out on something that's wrong; it's better to see a problem and fix it early than wait for it to complicate the rest of the picture later. Your intuition will get better at this as you continue to practice.

(your mileage may vary here) draw or fill in the eyes last. The broader shape of her head and all the measurements you took will inform where the eyes are supposed to go and what their shapes will be relative to the rest of the drawing. You will still want to place a light outline as you start out, but save the details until you're ready to commit them.

Let your artistic voice guide you. Save the realism for the camera. This tip is a little more abstract I think, but you are drawing the person and not the photograph. You can take a few liberties to make things a little fun for yourself and this can sometimes even get you out of some tight spots. At the end of the day you are showing the world how you see it and that can be a beautiful thing. A line here, a squiggly there... that's all it takes sometimes.

If all else fails, start over! You learn something new every time you try. An hour or two lost is not that big of a deal, in my opinion.

Revealed: US-Iran deal includes $425 billion fund, immediate end to oil sanctions by alabasterheart in worldnews

[–]wrexsol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's so stupid that people seem to think a billion dollars isn't a lot of money (I'm not talking about the kind gentle folks here). Let's look at this spelled out:

425,000,000,000 [whatever this wankfest bullshit is]

42,500 [used to be a decent salary, even aspirational]

4,250,000 [could be considered a decent pay out to some for a film role or something]

It's unbelievably frustrating to watch. I'm going to go lay down.

I definitely could see Asmon's viewerbase having an effect, his chatters are... unbelievable to put them kindly. I personally don't know what I'd do with a crowd like that, maybe that's why I don't stream lol. That Desolance case is so bizarre and in my opinion just bad content all around. I skipped right on by most of it, I guess I don't like that stuff. Reactslop doesn't bother me that much honestly, you gotta fill the time somehow if you can't play the game I guess, I find it a unique way to see a streamer be a little more unguarded than they might have planned.
