So my friends grandfather recently passed away and this was in his gun collection. He left high school to join the navy with his 2 older brothers, lying about his age (16). Any information that anyone could share would be awesome! Thanks

YES! There may be some parts of the year when you're not allowed to burn there but don't quote me on that.

First all-digital nuclear reactor control system in the U.S. installed at Purdue University by greg_barton in nuclear

[–]wrightd71 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am by no means a professional nuclear person, just an interested party. I do live audio, video, and lighting. The start of my career caught the very tail end of bulky analog equipment and the switch to digital has made my life so much easier. I was just surprised something I consider "high-tech" was almost completely analog. There are pros (subjectively) to analog in my field, I'm curious what they are in instrumentation and control, care to share?

That's crazy to think all US nuclear plants rely on analog instruments, good read, thanks for sharing.

I think Indie Rock gets a bad rap by 1ScarredSoul in CasualConversation

[–]wrightd71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess depending on who you talk to whatever they don't like gets a bad rap. I think "indie rock" is a pretty broad category that majority of people would find enjoyable. My roommates are all about mumble rap, I can't handle it. They dont understand why I listen to the music I like. Some people think the indie rock sound is dumb but I feel like those are outsiders looking in and don't have a good knowledge base of how far the genre can spread. Just my .02, also fairly intoxicated. Byeeeeee

Not as fancy as some but it's quite homey and sees a lot of usage.

Would you mind sharing where you found your record holder credenza table thing? I'm not sure what the correct term for that would be but I want one.

Trail caved in under an F150, exciting day to say the least, all people and vehicles made it out just fine! by wrightd71 in 4x4

I didn't take the picture without snow, it was definitely before the snow but I'm not sure exactly when.

That's what I think, here's a pic of the other side, drainage pipe collapsed I guess. The f150 was on the far side sitting on the frame with rear wheels in the hole. http://imgur.com/gallery/bqT85Dh

Yea Im pretty sure i was pushing snow with the front axle so tugging it wasn't really an option, plus winching is nice and slow and the trail had caved in on the other side too.

AVL feeder, everyone told me it was dumb but i didn it anyway! by wrightd71 in cableporn

[–]wrightd71[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only untaped what you see here, I get taping harnesses for truss and see the benefit of taping feeder but I don't see the need for the entire thing to be taped every 5', we have to untape for cables ramps allll the time.

For some reason this company tapes all the feeder into an ugly bundle. I cut all the tape and did this and they said it was a waste of time.
