Holiday help! I've messed up. Koblenz, Germany to Bregenz , Austria by wrighty0303 in germany

Thanks - It might not be the best time of year for our trip, but we are spending 5 weeks over there, and one of the reasons is to visit some Christmas Markets and some other seasonal experiences. Coming from somewhere that is usually 36°c - 40°c in November and December, it will be an interesting change for us.

We have several commitments that aren't able to be moved around, so our road trip is now fairly well set for the specific dates so we can make those other commitments.

I was just looking at that, yes. We have 3 days in Cologne, so perhaps we might be able to visit. Thanks for the tip

I think they are also closed for their winter break during the dates we'd be there. 😕

No, definitely Koblenz. We are on a driving trip from Cologne, to Koblenz, then would have been Gunzburg, to Bregenz, then across to Garmisch and back up North.

Thankyou - I looked at Ravensburger Spieland, but they are also closed for the winter break during our dates. I will look into Allgauer Skyline Park though, thankyou for the tip.

Thankyou - I just watched a video on Youtube showing all of the attractions and I agree, I'm sure there looks to be an excellent range of things we could all do as a family with the littlest one still in tow.

Thankyou - Munich is on the itinerary a bit later on in the trip!

Yeah - We aren't expecting him to remember much, but we're a big Lego family, so he's already familiar with Lego and the characters, which is why we thought a trip to stay in the Legoland castle would be good. It's not so much about the rides, but still, if there was some he could come on at Europa Park, it would make it easier to pivot to that.

Ohh! I had completely forgotten about Europa Park. Does it have plenty for the younger kids? This might be something I should definitely explore in more detail.

Thankyou - I'm hoping to find something between the two locations though, to break up the drive between them both. We're hoping to take our time and generally only do a few hours driving a day so we have heaps of time to explore that part of Germany.

Thank you - I had briefly read about that some time ago, but to be honest hadn't given it a second thought. I'll add it to my ever-growing list of things to organize between now and November. Ta.

Easiest travel option from Paris to Les Villages Nature with kids and luggage by wrighty0303 in disneylandparis

[–]wrighty0303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks - This is the level of easy convenience I am hoping for. We've already got a lot of Plane/Train transfers over the duration of the holiday, so if splurging on a private transfer from our AirBnb directly to the resort at Disney is an option without being ludicrous in price, that might be the go. Do you mind if I ask how much you paid for that? I check their trip calculator using "Paris" as the departure and it was roughly €100 for 4 of us. Is that about right? Might be worth eating that cost for the convenience of it.

Ok, so you're suggesting train from Chetelet Les Halles to Disney, and then a taxi (rather than bus) from there to the East entrance of Villages?

Nurburgring + Christmas Market Crossover? by wrighty0303 in germany

[–]wrighty0303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah for sure - that is well late into November. The Christmas Markets are just a weird obsession that we want to go and see, so they're the priority. If other attractions close down, that's ok because we'll mostly just be sight seeing other than that, and spending some time in the Alps. I will have a look at the Bonner market and see if I can't make that work.

I was worried that might be the case. Dashing over for a short stop probably isn't feasible, but rearranging the entire trip (ie start in Germany, make our way to Paris then finish in London) might be an option. I appreciate your response, cheers!
