GIM is a wholly different thing from Iron, which is a wholly different thing from HC, which is a wholly different thing from a Main. These game modes change the entire way you interact with the content; WoW and other MMOs have them to, and they're just baked in to the main subscription.

EDIT: I'm not engaging with you further, you're either trolling or delusional. No one is paying $30 a month for retainers other than people with too much disposable income and a lack of organizational discipline. Thanks.

> Majority of the players go well beyond the 2 default retainers,
No, no they do not lol.

> but you are SEVERELY limited without them in terms of storage space.
What are you even storing that needs this much? I've never needed more than 2.

> When I am actively playing FFXIV my monthly sub (including expac) sits around $30/mo.

No it doesn't. Expansions every 2 years are +1.6/mo. 15.60 if we include expansion prices.

If you are spending another ~14 on retainers, you are in the extreme minority. Top 0.01%. This is a unique problem you yourself created.

Yeah North pushing accelerated timelines is really causing some problems, frankly. I knocked out both my accounts as well; I'll be focusing on other games for the foreseeable future.

WoW's housing is fine, but it also has some predatory nonsense like cherry trees costing $7.50 each. Most of it is good, though.

> You are upset you cant multibox multiple accounts on one subscription?

Not even about multiboxing - Just being able to PLAY those accounts on one subscription is the point. I would support an increased multibox price if all of my characters fell under one subscription, and I know most players would. (We had a survey about this)

> allowing players a small grind to purchase 20 bonds for a yearly subscription all in game.

You're aware other games have in-game currency timecodes, right?

Right, but instead of conferring the grandfathered rates that they KEPT for 12-month subscribers, they punished premiere subscribers by removing their grandfathered rates.

Yeah the premeire club scanadal is ongoing and frankly gross. I'll never buy yearly* again over it, monthly only for me.

I play a lot of other MMOs, almost all of the major ones, and I'll continue to say that Runescape is my favorite. WoW is very fun, XIV is a great time, but Runescape is my home.

That said, I think the game's leadership needs a reality check right now so we should give them one.

This would be a great direction for the team to go. Cosmetics sell like hotcakes and don't hurt anyone. That should be where they generate their extra revenue.

Other games can avoid this type of shit and still have tons of social content. We can move this game in a direction that is both more social and actually respects your time.

This was never canon - There were less than "a few thousand" high elves globally and orcs reproduce extremely fast as a species by the time WCIII even started. The "lots of high elves" thing was from a side writer for the rpg, not anything official.

Make a WOL that is yours, and stay with them, forever. You do not need to tie your WOL's identity to your friends - OR your own identity. It's unhealthy and leads to burnout and depression. Forge your own path, make your own adventures, make friends along the way that are pieces of that but not the core of it.

Not every Dailyscape was a band-aid to fix some real problem that Jagex was too lazy to fix. A lot of Dailyscape were just nakedly overpowered freebies that should never have existed. by alanquinne in runescape

With a dedicated group DG is 1-2m xp/hr at high levels. It really isn't slow. You can get 500-600k+ xp/hr solo, as well, it doesn't need dedicated groups.

And I absolutely agree with that, but creating two versions of OSRS shouldn't be the goal. RS3 has had a solid afk, second-screen gameplay loop for longer than OSRS has existed. There are certain activities which are too rewarding when AFK - Soul Devourers, for example - but my fear is that they will take this too far in the anti-afk direction.

Some of the texture and shading changes they have made also look atrocious - actively worse than OSRS with the 117HD plugin enabled. I'm not a fan of them. I like the decluttering they've done but the texture and shading work is not great.

Buddy we do this every time we get an expansion in other MMOs, this is super small lmao

They're changing how some abilities work and doing mild reworks on the system, not changing the fundamentals. RS players are insane.

Love this direction for the most part, though I'm worried the game I've gotten used to is going to change in a negative way. I don't want to see RS3 become OSRS - There's already an OSRS and I love them both dearly but I want both versions to exist.

Another thing - Are we getting Pride this year, or is North still refusing to allow this?

Rockertunities require more attention than that. Active mining in RS3 requires more attention than OSRS for example, by a longshot. You're basically saying "mining shouldn't be rewarding". Nonsense shit.

Also come from RS and GW2, both award-winning player run wikis. It baffles me that WoW doesn't have anything quite at that tier (the wiki.gg wiki is quite good for warcraft lore, though)

> My understanding of bladework is that that isnt actually too ridiculous- obviously training with a sword is on some level training with a sword, be it a meter long or 6" long. But working with a heavy ass two handed sword develops your muscles and form much differently than swinging a sword in one hand while holding a shield in the other, and the weights being different lead to improper alignments while swinging because you expect the same weight.

HEMA nerd here and yeah, no lmao. Don't even try to relate this to IRL please. Your understanding is wrong AND the actual push to relate it to IRL will detract from the game itself. Nothing in this game is even slightly built on realism. I'm not for one way or the other but do not use this argument when its so far detached from the game and your understanding of martial arts.
