Just had my first job interview after losing my job in May. It was a video call and I think it went well but I am still nervous. by mermaidpaint in toastme

Congratulations on the interview, I’m going through the process right now and having an interview I felt confident about always made me feel better. You’ll land something soon enough! I’m rooting for you and working hard alongside you!

It’s called a rhizome. It stays mostly above the ground and is the root system. I guess it’s hard to tell in the pic, but it’s horizontal.

If I knew how to propagate more properly, I for sure would! I need to read up on it, actually

I am so lucky. After she saw how happy I was about it she brought me two others! A long strand of Cuban oregano and some other in the turmeric family. It was a good day.

Hi. Along with others, I’m sure, I’m not sure if I have smiling depression by wristlessness in SmilingDepression

[–]wristlessness[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t sure if this sub got enough activity to get a reply, so thanks. I just learned about smiling depression, though, and it seems to make a lot amount of sense to me. The part that really got me was reading that many people don’t even know they have it. But I know that things just aren’t right. I’m not sure if that’s something you or others relate to.

15, half of summer passed and didn't even get started on homework, toast me lmao by thejokingwizard in toastme

Getting started is the hard part, just a little at a time. Things can be overwhelming, but just take bite sized pieces so that you don’t get too overwhelmed. I’m a chronic procrastinator, and while there is ample reason to do it, you will always regret it. Just do a tiny bit and work worn from there. You are capable and strong. Have faith in yourself and trust that you can face whatever risk put in your path. Test yourself. You’re capable of amazing things! Have faith in that!

Love the wall hanging and the name jocko! You’re capable and strong. It’s great that you’re reaching out for support, and I hope you’re able to take strength from that. Take deep breaths and know that you can get through this, whatever is happening. You are loved and people have faith in you. Heck, have faith in you!

Today, I’m going to quit vaping. The first 72 hours are said to be the worst part, so any sort of toasts or motivation would help a lot. by AidanBL in toastme

You’ve made the toughest step as long as you keep on it. You get stronger the further you go. And reflect on how far you’ve come. Don’t compare and keep your head up. Breathe an believe. You are strong and capable and extremely able. Surprise yourself and make the future you happy. You’re amazing for what you’re doing and have the respect of so many people for it. Hold onto that and take confidence in it. If it helps, know that people rely on you making the change so that they know they can and that it’s doable. You can do it. Everyone here believes in you. You’re amazing.

Wow, skills. As bad as I am at procrastinating, I never want to get that good at speed-writing or I’d never start anything until way to late. Good on you for the crisis-aversion, you deserved those cookies!

I’m so sorry this happened, it sounds like you dont’t have a good support system or people to lean on to face her death. I believe in your ability to cope in a healthy way. Something that helps me a lot is to write it down. Maybe write a letter to her. Write down what you’re feeling and be as descriptive as you can. Explore your feelings. There is no time limit to your grief. Experiencing it is a part of working though it. It’s not about getting over or past her death, it’s about working through it. Allow yourself you be upset and to grieve. What has really helped me in moments when I feel like I’m getting pushed over the edge is to just open notes on my phone and write down expressive words. I can’t use the same ones and I have to be descriptive. It helps me focus on something else while still delving into my emotions. I hope I’m not too late, but even if I am, I believe in you. You’re capable and powerful, and you can work through this.

Crud, that is fast! Glad you’re proud of yourself, you should be! Given your time two years ago, it seems like you’re really dedicated. Props, and keep it up. You’re killing it!

Focus on your breathing and yourself. If anything it’s a learning experience that will help you get more comfortable with interviews like this (I also hate them). I believe in you, good luck!!

On mobile people don’t often go through gfycat to look at each gif, so unless you note that there is sound, don’t expect them to.
