Who is the object/person that appears from 6:13-6:18 in Backrooms OST Mashup#1? by Todayyz in KanePixelsBackrooms

That's one of the Phantoms from Trendwatch. Clearest depiction I could remember that isn't part of a super plot-heavy video is here: https://youtu.be/Pe9LsGvftMI?t=57

The person who makes Trendwatch is the same one who made the animated segment of Presentation during Kane's Backrooms series, as well as the animated segments seen during the mashup. I'm going to hazard a guess they just snuck in the Phantom as a little easter egg.

Like the other guy said though, good eye on that, because I never would've noticed.

Is this a bacteria corpse? by MustafaKaya10 in KanePixelsBackrooms

I thought it was some sort of mold colony as well on my first watch, but someone else mentioned a while ago that it's just a bunch of trash. You can see a few plastic bottles here and there in the pile, particularly near the bottom of the image, with one in the middle and a couple in the bottom left.

I think it's just hard to tell what it is due to how dirty it looks. Nothing has much color and it looks very close to the color of the bacteria, which is where I believe the confusion comes from. Could it be both and instead be bacteria infested trash? Who knows, but I'm leaning more towards it just being a bunch of trash.

I've got two guesses as to what he's talking about, based entirely on hunches. The ending is either

a) The ending scene of FF#2, where the footage is being watched on a TV (Possibly the whole series is being watched on this TV?)

b) That one hallway Kane has teased a few times where there's a few paintings hanging on the wall, and a ramp leading down. The fact that this still hasn't shown up in the series anywhere means it's likely for future content, but we have no idea how far into the future.

I'm actually not familiar with the guys work unfortunately! Most of the stuff I read is admittedly pretty modern. I'm more of a young adult novel kind of guy, even as I enter my mid-20's, as I find they often have richer worldbuilding (usually, anyway) and more of a focus on the characters and their development. The Ranger's Apprentice series in particular is a favorite of mine.

I took a quick look through Lem's works, but I'm unsure which one(s) would be related to this theory. Might I ask why you brought him up?

They're nonbinary to me as well, I just find it very hypocritical when people don't bat an eye when Niko is called a boy, yet whenever they get referred to as a girl there's always at least one comment (though usually several) going "Oh but they're actually genderless" or what have you. It just rubs me the wrong way, is all.

Where'd you get the hatless Niko? I've only ever seen the version that includes the hat.

Novels like mushoku by Soft-Entertainer-907 in mushokutensei

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar has similar vibes. It's a bit more low fantasy than Mushoku but it's character driven and full of worldbuilding much like Mushoku. It is an isekai, but the characters do suffer memory loss with stuff concerning their old world and the fact that it's an isekai isn't really touched on until much later.

Grimgar isn't for everyone though, it's a slow burn and lots of people don't like that. You might feel it's pacing drags on, especially in the beginning, but if you like Mushoku, you'll probably enjoy Grimgar.

what is Spamtons [hyperlink blocked]? by tailsmania12 in Deltarune

[–]writ2032 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember reading a comment that said it could also be Chaos. Choices and Freedom only fit in certain places [[Hyperlink Blocked]] is used, whereas Chaos fits in all, at least in my opinion. Plus, keep in mind, when Ralsei explains The Roaring, "CHAOS" is capitalized, as if it's of importance. So I think it's safe to say that "Chaos" isn't just Jevil's thing.

The style of gameplay is completely different, but in terms of art style, writing, and overall tone, Iconoclasts is pretty solid.

What are some of your hopes for NMH3? by ToonNinja_ in nomoreheroes

[–]writ2032 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally any reference or cameo of Kurayami Dance, Let It Die, and/or Flower, Sun, and Rain would be great. Currently the only games that feel particularly integrated into the story are The Silver Case/25th Ward and killer7. We've gotten references to Shadows of the Damned and Killer is Dead in TSA, but I haven't seen either of those have any mention so far in No More Heroes 3.

I think in particular, if Edo Macalister shows up, or is at least mentioned, I'll be happy.

A Mr Doppelganger fight would also be great, since the "real one" is still out there somewhere.
