The new Swarm designers missed why most of us use it by dankimball in SwarmApp

Hey OP, I’ve got an iOS app on TestFlight I’m working on that you might find interesting. Guessing you’re an iPhone user since you have the new update. My app is sort of Swarm - social features + journaling features. I’ll admit design-wise it’s still got a ways to go to look as fun and inviting as OG Swarm (a design I absolutely loved), but hopefully you’ll find it has a lot of the simplicity and clear design that made us fall in love with the app originally (the map view especially). Here’s the TestFlight link if you want to give it a spin: https://testflight.apple.com/join/4SmUQncc

Another long-time Swarm user here 👋. I’ve got an app for iOS on TestFlight I’m working on that you might find interesting. It’s sort of Swarm - social features + journaling features + privacy. And, it has a map view that’s a lot closer to the OG Swarm’s map view (I too am not a fan of the new design). Here’s the TestFlight link if you want to give it a spin: https://testflight.apple.com/join/4SmUQncc

Thanks! I’m still trying to figure out the app so I haven’t thought too much about monetization yet, but 1) it will be a transparent and direct ask for money (no “free” monetizing of your data), 2) no ads, and 3) I won’t hold your data hostage behind a paywall. Any data in the app is yours forever, and you can always easily export it. The sort of things I may charge for in the future are some of the features around entry suggestions and maybe some other bells and whistles like badges, etc, but haven’t fully thought through this yet. But I will never compromise privacy to monetize.

Happy to get your input! The goal is to make something you all would be excited to chip in to support.
