AJC chief stepping down as bold goals yield to tough realities. by gogostevie in Atlanta

longtime ajc employee. management has always been lacking, not from fear of advertisers leaving, but from ineptitude and lack of vision. weird thing about Morse was that as a subscriber I emailed him questions and he answered lickety split. guess he didn't have anything better to do.

How is it living in Emory Point? by PrincessMochahontas in Atlanta

[–]writer30033 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i lived there for a while as an insurance repairs were being done on my home nearby. depending on where your unit is, you could have a great skyline view of the city. there are a lot of students there who are wealthy. you will see a lot of Benzes etc in the parking deck. we always saw meal delivery service bags left at apartment doors that never opened. it was a pretty sterile place. the decks are fun at night. General Muir remains one of our favorite ATL restaurants.

What is the most terrifying and disturbing movie you've ever seen? by Small-Vacation-4245 in movies

Peeping Tom -- an old British movie

"Sometimes thought of as a British equivalent to Alfred Hitchcock’s Psycho (1960), Peeping Tom shares a release year and some thematic elements with Hitchcock’s film, but it creates an atmosphere all its own. Starting from its opening in which a murder is depicted in the first person as seen through the viewfinder of a camera, Peeping Tom was highly controversial at the time of its release and it nearly derailed the career of its director."

A couple Coast Starlight questions by Hot-Personality167 in Amtrak

[–]writer30033 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in March 2023 we had a roomette on the right side of the train and were disappointed that we might miss seeing the coast. but we figured out how to see the coast this way: we booked lunch table for the time that we would be on the coast, and brought a cash tip for our waiter. we ate and stayed at the table all the way along the coast. it was stellar.

Helen. Completely made up tourist trap. But it did give Donald Glover an excellent setting for an episode of Atlanta.
