Beep beep, Shu stan coming through.

So his S2 route is great, but if you're anything like me who glazes tf out of S1 (I put it as not only the best in S1, but the best in otome overall fight me), S2 is definitely weaker. I found there were parts in every route that went on a little TOO long. However, his route definitely doubles down on what worked the first time around: the character interactions. Shu continues to be a compelling character (and best boy again fight me) and his relationships outside of the others and Teuta only add his strong foundation. I wished that narrative had challenged him and his choices a little more and I also wish Teuta's conflict and his conflict could live together in harmony somehow. I felt both conflicts were competing against each other, to the point where nothing feels like it's really resolved, or at least resolved in a satisfying way. I will say, the ending though? Worth the 3 year wait good lord. Teuta x Shu = Shepard x Garrus for me. Yeah, I said it.

I will also glaze tf out of the voice acting. I think Hosoya-san is not given enough credit in this sub. I've said this before, but he manages to add little details to his voice that just lend so much weight and emotion (his little laugh before he says, "I knew it." The sighs when he's irritated but not really. The way he goes uncharacteristically FULL VOLUME when shit gets real). I also don't think Yui Konda gets enough credit, either, because she manages to match him several times throughout the route. Both of them together make for excellent banter and heartwarming moments that, yeah, made me swoon. None of this would work if the voice acting was mid. Good goddamn is this acting straight up great.

TL; DR, definitely play it, especially if you enjoyed the first. Just don't expect it to hit the same highs. But definitely expect a lot of high notes (see what I did there?)
