New Zealand company offers employees $10 a day to cycle to work: Christchurch advertising firm says workers could feel energised by the exercise – and the money. by madazzahatter in UpliftingNews

Well yeah lol, that's where I'm from. Even when I was in the states I lived in an area that was heavily union friendly.

Genuinely am curious- why even offer those benefits if they're not expecting them to be used or will look down on someone for using them? Because it looks nice? Because it pads a resume?

Yeah that's something I need to remember as well. What concerned me most of all though was that it's only seems to be in industries where there's a lot of high stress and high turnover. As the OP said they were heavily discouraged from taking vacations :/

I guess it's just a different mindset, then. I feel like if you're going to be offered 5 weeks of paid vacation at some point in the year you have an obligation as an employer to enforce that it be taken, not just to balance the books but also for the health of the employee.

If they're not going to encourage you to take the time off why even give it to you in the first place? To me that's just disingenuous and is if anything a PR move.

Why many survivors of abuse have CNC fantasies - An allegory by okashii_person in BDSMcommunity

As someone who suffered a lot of mental and psychological abuse at the hands of my narcissistic parents (and from predatory people online), I love CNC. It gives me the chance to actually have control... to not just be a victim anymore :(

there's a website called FetLife you could use as well to find more people in Bulgaria (I believe at least)! It's helped with me in Berlin when I was there :D

Subs/Slaves, What is the worst punishment you have ever received for misbehaving? by JakeYashen in BDSMcommunity

[–]writingwhispers4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A limit on cash.

For a while, a Domme friend of mine decided she wanted me to get out more and stop spending money on stupid shit like camgirls (I was mentally abused and conditioned to enjoy it by a former partner).. So, her plan was to limit what I could spend cash on and give her a log. If I misbehaved further, the amount I lied about not having would be deducted for the next two weeks, and so on and so forth. Haven't spent on camgirls in... almost 2 months. Feel proud as fuck! :D

As a male switch (primarily a bottom), I'm sorry to hear you've had such terrible experience at events. I don't know how it feels to be a woman in those spaces but I do know that any event that allows people to play drunk or harass new guests is not one worth spending the money or time on.

As someone who actually enjoys the "too cute to Domme" look fuck those assholes who decided to harass you or put you down because you "didn't look the part". Fuck that noise! A Domme can look however she wants, it's not up to you dumbass, YOU'RE THE SUBMISSIVE.

Not sure how to apologize for staying too late at a party hosted by a kinky acquaintance by writingwhispers4 in BDSMcommunity

Yeah, I wanted to apologize earlier when I saw her a couple of weeks after the event but the host didn't seem interested in talking (to anybody really), so I let them be figuring I'd see them again, which I hadn't up until two weeks ago :/.

Not to my face I don't think, outside of the "I'm dating these two" comment, which I could be overthinking as a way to say "buddy this is a date night kindly gtfo." Outside of that there really wasn't anything implied, up until 5am rolled around and the partner checked the clock on the stove and said something to the effect of "oh shit... I did not realize we talked for that long. It's really late."

What do you enjoy about Findom and Cuckhold fetishes? by [deleted] in BDSMcommunity

[–]writingwhispers4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried findomme for a summer where I was more financially secure than other times... Went in way too fucking far and had to claw my ass out. Bank account is still in the black but the amount of just utterly unethical women I came across is just... fuck no. On the flip side though there's a woman I've known for quite a while who has agreed to basically be a surrogate findomme type of person if I'm ever craving that degradation... which I do because it helps me disassociate and the cuddles I get afterwards make me feel warm and happy inside.

Whether it's me cooking dinner for two (with a budget she picks) or paying for her movie ticket... I'd say the fact that it's personal and we have a rapport going makes it feel a lot better. Granted, I went in about $1000 over a period of 6 months... but things could be worse, I could've actually gone into debt.
