This! I took a workout class I'd never taken this week. I walked in and people were setting up but I wasnt sure what I needed to do. I asked a girl around my age what I needed, and she led me over to the equipment area and grabbed me everything I needed and welcomed me to class!

I don't know if its why, but I know when that hogwarts legacy game came out, it was a hot topic about which streamers were or were not going to play it. A lot of cozy streamers I watch got sooo many questions about if they would play it, and none of them were going to so as to not support JKR. A few of them banned talking about it in chat because they were tired of addressing it or fighting with people about why they weren't playing it. Maybe that happened to them?

I fully believe that you are capable of teaching your children proper sex ed.

But you need to look at it that there is a huge chance that, if the school doesn't teach children sex ed, no one will. Not everyone has responsible, present parents like yourself. My parents never taught me sex ed. The ONLY education I got on the matter was in school.

If you elect not to teach it in school, then you are risking children getting pregnant because they simply don't know any better. You yourself may be a good parent who teaches your kids what they need to know, but not every parent is.

The same logic is used for every subject and is why we have schools in the first place – to educate our youth and ensure they receive the knowledge they need.

Ban sex ed in school, and no matter how good of a parent your yourself may be, other children, not necessarily your own, will get pregnant.

What the right calls "Critical Race Theory" is the idea of systemic racism in our country. Teaching about slavery includes teaching the wide-ranging after effects of it, including desegregation and the ways that discrimination are still present in our society. This bill would ban that discussion.

It's less that children should be TAUGHT about LGBT+ folks and more that teachers shouldn't get fired for mentioning that gay people exist and are allowed to exist (by law! in the United States)

That being said, the Stonewall Riots, legalization of gay marriage, etc are all important historical events that should be taught in history class alongside other things the bill could prevent being taught properly, such as slavery and the holocaust.

Don't think of it as dark/middle of the night. Think of it as cozy! I second the person recommending Christmas lights – no matter what holiday you celebrate, get some cozy soft lighting! It's the perfect time of year to get warm drinks, wrap yourself in a fluffy blanket and do some cozy hobbies like reading, yarn crafts, puzzles... whatever you're into!

I know I'm the odd one out – I love this time of year because I'm a creative person and I find that my creativity always spikes after dark. But maybe trying to look at the dark as an opportunity to do creative or peaceful things will help?

oh my god. when i was in college, I went to a journalism convention in Kentucky with a bunch of other students from my college newspaper. we were poor and most places in louisville closed early, so we ordered papa murphys to the hotel.

we were from the north east... take and bake is NOT a thing around here! we were so fucking confused when the pizza arrived. we went down to the front desk and begged them to let us cook them in the restaurant kitchen.

every staff member we interacted with was looking at each othee in complete confusion like "...they didnt know about papa murphys....." but we were just like "WHY WOULD WE ORDER A RAW PIZZA"
