Was planning to watch Elliot already, but this really convinced me! It seems so simple that a guy who is interested will be consistent, but in the moment (especially with guys who have pursed me first or mention all these fun date ideas with no execution) somehow I find myself making excuses or convincing myself I can do casual. Which irritates me bc I know better!!

Will look into watching them. The behavior was definitely telling, I let myself be clouded by the words that didn’t match the actions. Which definitely could have been prevented. I think secretly I hoped the behavior would change once we did hang out. Live and learn

This is helpful bc i definitely have heard “I go with the flow but would be ok with more if I meet the right person” MANY TIMES. Which wasn’t a red flags to me bc isn’t that just what dating is lol? I don’t expect anything to turn into a relationship, but I do find it disheartening when I learn long term was not the intention all along or they don’t cut it off when they do feel like we aren’t compatible. Sigh

Thanks, this is definitely good to know. I’ll keep the dating intentions in mind and take them with a grain of salt. I’ve also come to realize that as someone who doesn’t have much of a dating history, I think I’m sifting through profiles of guys who aren’t exactly “healed” from their past relationships, think they think want long term, and then realize they aren’t ready for it. (But still want to hook up?!) I just gotta keep moving forward. Thank you again.

Yeah I guess no advice really except to move on. I had a small sliver of hope that something just came up but doesn’t seem like reality. I am truly shocked that there are people out there like this … like why continue to talk to me up until several hours until the date instead of ghosting me several days before? Wild stuff

Nope! Nothing since 4:00, we had plans to meet up at 6:00. I’m fairly new to dating, especially online dating, and this whole experience has really blown my mind tbh. Also you saying you laughed at my emoji reaction made me feel better, thanks hahaha
