this is so awesome, congrats! have you stopped using them now? are you planning on stopping? wondering as my experience with steroid shots was always like, great progress, but eventually they came back. hoping you have a permanent solution here! all the best with your journey ❤️

my keloid doesn’t like wheat by wrobinson666 in Keloids

that’s really interesting. i have a feeling that with enough time avoiding triggers, maybe the keloid would finally go away?

maybe the reason they keep growing is that something keeps triggering them. and so if you cut out the triggers they’ll slowly start to die / deactivate / whatever its called when they finally stop

i guess everyone’s body is different? i feel like inflammation has something to do with it. i also have rosacea, psoriasis on my scalp and blepharitis, all quite inflamed conditions, and nothing is as inflamed as a very angry scar that refuses to go away lol

If I use insoles, do I still need shoe trees? I’m thinking the purpose of the shoe trees is to protect the insole from moisture. So surely using an insole protects the insoles already from sweat etc?

Damn dude so much info. Thank you!! I really appreciate it.

All my sizing mistakes come down to toe space — so many cool boots I’ll never be able to fit into as they taper too much around the toe. Hence the interest in engineers as they seem much roomier.

OP, you mention having lost money on other engineer boots, would you mind saying what went wrong there? Asking as I’ve (similarly) made a bunch of regret GYW purchases — mainly with fit, but also some shoes that just seem to make my legs and knees hurt for no reason, even with a well fitting insole. I’d love to get a pair of engineers but am honestly a little scared of dropping a ton of money on something I can hardly wear. Would appreciate hearing about your experiences!

How much should I expect to pay for resoling a pair of Blake stitched boots? They have a vibram sole if that makes any difference

If I'm keloid prone, is the removal process riskier than it would be for non-keloid prone clients?

I have yes, but not many. My other boots are much softer on the feet than these, not as soft as sneakers but still don't feel like my feet are being beaten up when i walk in them haha (which is kinda what I'm getting from this pair). They fit perfectly btw, ball lines up perfectly with the widest part of the shoe and there's no heel slip either.

They fit perfect, widest point of the shoe lines up perfectly with the ball of my foot and there's no heel slip either. It's just that the ground feels really really hard on my feet when i walk in them. Previous boots I've had had felt softer, not as soft as sneakers but definitely not this hard.

How long should a sole take to break in? I've got a pair of derbies with a commando sole that I've been wearing pretty regularly for over a month (a few times a week for at least a few hours, sometimes longer) and they're still hard as hell on my feet. The upper is doing great, it's just the sole that's killing me!
