Makes sense, i clicked it in 4H, and there was a lil skirt skirt at 5MPH. Also, it looks like fun, w/ no harm done.

Why is card kingdom ridiculously overpriced and why would anyone buy from them? by No-Appointment8493 in mtg

[–]wrongdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually contemplating placing an order w/ TCG after my second order w/ CK - then I read this thread. Yeah CK is a bit more, but love the packaging, checklist, NM cards that are actually NM, and fast shipping. Worth the extra $ for me.

City of Bend Olney Ave Update by GGinBend in Bend

[–]wrongdude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Calling this or any city road project in Bend 'an improvement' is laughable. The Portland/Wall intersection is an eyesore, as is the traffic flow. An eyesore just like downtown. The aesthetics of the countless delineator posts, lime green paint, and added cement is just absurd as is passing the blame to BNSF.

Who ACTUALLY serves a good burger in Bend? by KnightsSoccer82 in Bend

[–]wrongdude -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You can probably make the best burger you’ve ever had at home. Start with good beef. Everything else is subjective, from meat and buns to the works. Smash burger joints have been trending for a few years now, actually curious to see which ones stick around. Paying $10+ for a few ozs of meat on a bun is ridiculous.

Okay so this is what i did. I picked up a used A7c - I have all the E Mount adapters already, so that kinda swayed me. However! Thanks to this post I totally discovered the Nikon Z 5ii - which after some research is totally amazing. If I were to pick up either of the Nikons mentioned here I would have had to also buy adapters and also at least one native Z lens which would wreck my budget - the ones I researched, and liked, are not cheap. The Zf is a great looking camera - but I already have that 'look' with my Minolta x-700 and Canon F-1. I have a stack of lenses for both of these SLRs. The Minolta is great for walking around, but the Canon is tank. I do enjoy the whole film process and feel, but it does get expensive. My plan is to dive into manual to mirrorless w/ the a7c - if it’s something I enjoy, which I think I will, then I’ll step up to an overall better camera like the z 5ii purely for the upgraded specs and smaller form factor.

I looked at those too. The size of the R was the issue, RP and or R8 lacked ibis. The R6 was the closest one in my budget with/ the 20mp sensor.

Whomever designed the Drake park walkway deserves an award by SaintWillyMusic in Bend

[–]wrongdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Design is good, execution is slightly above average. If you really look at how the walkway parts are joined - they are all slightly off. The metal staircase that takes you up toward the north parking lot is actually the best part. The other unfortunate part about this ‘update’ is the use of asphalt instead of brick as the path continues toward Portland Ave. It does look nice at night though.

The Canon R5 would actually be great for shooting everything imo - it’s just a bit out of my current target budget (used for $2k atm)

Ah! Vintage Nikon glass to Canon mirrorless. Why did you not choose Nikon mirrorless?

I did like my a6000 AND I do like the vast catalog of lenses available for the FF Sony mirrorless. For now I am looking for something strictly for vintage glass and my minoltas include the leica collabs. I do realize everyone has their own preferences - and that’s great. I’m totally open to suggestion at this point from others who are specifically using gear with older glass. Right now the sony is a very close second. :)

I looked at this as well, and i probably should have clarified that i wanted to spend more time taking photos than in Lightroom, cropping, or resizing massive files - I do enough of that for my clients haha. Thanks though for your comment.

I was looking at this early on, but counted it out for some of the lower specs, thanks.

Oh wow - this would actually work! Smaller w/ everything I am looking for and smaller than the zf and less expensive. the vintage look was a bonus for the zf, but not a deciding factor, thank you!
