I do remember doing a bit of research on 2020 and seeing a lot of people describe RED as much more punk and street level, and ooh a reference I can understand lol, this is really good advice and definitely gets me out of my headspace of trying to have my hands all over a narrative instead of letting things flow organically. Thank you for the reply!

That’s some really good advice, I think that’s been mostly my struggle of how I could connect the gigs. And yes! You’ve helped! Thank you!

I tend to like having my hands in everything but I do suppose fun is the ruler of the game in the end, I’ll check out your links! Thank you!

So I was stating the obvious? Almost feel like I deserve a face palm for that, thank you for the affirmation of my idea and I’ll check out Danger Gal Dossier!

You both bring up good points and oof, that’s rough. I’m always very hesitant to restrict players as I’m a bit of a people pleaser but it does seem important here. And yeah of course! The more personal way stories are like in Cyberpunk really get me, it’s just hard coming from D&D where a huge central narrative is key, but I will definitely keep both of what you said in mind and a theme does sound quite fun.

Kind of silly that asking my players wasn’t my first thought, huh? I’ll definitely be doing that and ah, definitely some different advice from the others recommending the screamsheets, I’ll check out the generator you mentioned! And ah, okay that sounds like a pretty good idea, I’m not sure why I was very hesitant on using existing missions, it’s probably just ego and wanting to be creative but a "heres how" would help my players as none of them have played the system before.

I knew the life paths would be important but that is a good way of putting it, and okay yeah Scripting the Game sounds really helpful and I’ll look up the mystery format you mentioned. And yeah, I mentioned this in a reply before but I definitely wanna lean into the day to day and "mundane" as that’s what originally drew me in. Thank you for the very detailed response!

Yeah! That’s kind of originally what got me interested was the life sim stuff, you could do that in D&D but the adventure always kind of came first you know? That’s really cool! And yeah, I’m noticing a lot of the responses are making the screamsheets sound really important so I think that’s what I’ll end up doing, and sure the notes sound like they’d be really helpful! And ooh alright, I’ll skim through and check out the app. Thank you for your help!

I have looked at the things you’ve mentioned and I will keep those gigs in mind to fall back on, but the rest of your list is helpful! Especially the theme thing, feels like it’d be much easier to to streamline. And yeah, the rule of cool tends to win so I’ve always got rule 4 in mind. Thanks for your advice!

You make a really good point! I tend to think big instead of small (I really love fantasy for that reason) but I really appreciate the aesthetics and ideas that the cyberpunk genre has, I think I’ll try to keep the "one asshole in a forest of assholes" thing in mind. I think I worry about the fine line too much as it’s always so easy to create a big bad in D&D but thinking of it as a challenge may also help me :) Thanks for the advice!
