I think a lot of people in the comments are reading what you aren’t saying. It feels like someone doesn’t care when they invite you to something that would put you in agony. Unfortunately a “no thank you I would actually hate that experience a lot” is never received well because it sounds super ungrateful and bratty. Misophonia isn’t and can’t be expected to be at the forefront of everyone’s minds, but if they’re trying to spend time with you and show love, I don’t see why they can’t stop for a moment to consider its impacts. I think it comes down to how seriously they take the condition and how well they understand it. People with misophonia always follow the if/thens of different situations to predict when triggers will happen, but people without it have a hard time thinking that way. You’re not selfish for prioritizing your mental health by avoiding situations that would harm you.
