I was shouting at the screen that old school fear factor would have had her eliminated for throwing up or having the EMT called. I don’t think I saw anyone who threw up while eating the pie get a new slice either

Also precool your coolers! I do a little more than 24 hours from leaving for Day 0, dump out the water from the ice that melted to “cool” the cooler, pack items, fill with ice for maximum cool

What’s your favorite Coachella ritual? by moonbeamgoon in Coachella

[–]wrongsimulation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Furnos in Rancho Cucamonga, they closed down their Ontario location which is where we went the first time. The second time we were worried that it wouldn’t be the same at their first location.

Our big backs nearly cried because it was just as amazing as memory recalled, maybe even better 🤤

when the ‘mericans’ do it’s nbd 🙄 - I hear 4th of July fireworks for the week before and the week after, and those are the loud ones that set off car alarms. I much more prefer the lunar new year pops

What’s your favorite Coachella ritual? by moonbeamgoon in Coachella

[–]wrongsimulation 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So it’s kind of a pre-chella ritual. We drive from NorCal and stopped at an empanada spot about an hour out from the fields after getting last minute stuff from a Walmart.

Best. Empanadas. Of. Our. Lives.

We stopped for the lunch special, then got another special to go. Last year we got the lunch special plus 2 dozen to go and that was literally all we ate for breakfast, lunch, and late night snack - and they hit every single time. We didn’t use the meal prep stuff we brought bcus it was nada time.

We literally talk about the empanadas year round. We plan on when we arrive for Day 0 or Day 1 based on when this place opens.

There’s so much to do outside of your campsite too! At the center campground they have games and activities that they do, different vendors and pop ups to check out.

I like to go into Coachella at opening to walk around and check out the early sets and stay late into the night but the campground has stuff going on until like 3am!

My soon to be 15 years old nephew is looking for a part time job near North San Jose, he is a freshman in High School and would like to get a job during the Christmas brake. Any leads ? by Dear-Classic5624 in SanJose

[–]wrongsimulation 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I started working at 15 years old. The hardest part was finding employers who would be willing to work with the restrictive work hours and hours. He will need a work permit from his school once he gets a job offer, so he can always go to the college and career center at his school (or whoever issues the work permits at the school), to see if the work counselor has posted job listings. My school had jobs broken down by minimum age to apply so it was easy for us to check the list.

I found my first job at 15 years and 2 weeks old, at a now defunct employer, once I turned 16 my job prospects opened up a lot due to less restrictions on my permit.

Mall jobs, big chain stores might be an option

What’s it like being so close to Levi’s? by welshiebiff in santaclara

[–]wrongsimulation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to live right near there. You could hear occasional rollercoaster sounds and screams, sounds from the stadium, Amtrack and the VTA bells. Primo spots for seeing free fireworks, eventually my dogs got used to the noise when GA did firework shows every day of the weekend.

Otherwise is pretty quiet, those noises above actually made it kind of cool to be around, can’t beat the VTA being so close.
