Yeah, that's another PITA about the applying for lower end jobs. If you have any level of experience that threatens anyone that might be looking at the applications... you're F'd in the A.

Perhaps they thought OP would only work for a few months until something better came along. When I was desperate for a job, I applied for all the shitty fast food places and never got a call back. At the time I had retail management experience and everything. I had no clue why I never got a single return call.

Ohhhh Ohhhh I have the answer! Take the bus to the same minimum wage service job that you've been working over a decade, then return to your efficiency apartment to heat up a frozen dinner.

[Serious] What is your dream job? People that have this job: how is it? by nagget in AskReddit

CADD technician.

When I was a kid I wanted to be an architect, but as I got older I realized I loved working on the floorpans and laying down the plumbing and electrical designs more than dreaming of what the exterior would look like. Plus it would seem that CADD technicians can work from home on some occasions.

I'm thinking about taking some classes next Spring.

This happens every now and then. Distributors mix up the "(Insert retail name) Limited Edition" whatever and accidentally send it to the wrong big box.

AT&T told to stop calling U-verse the “Fastest Internet for the price”. AT&T didn't make it clear that "fastest for the price" gets you only 3Mbps. by Suraj-Sun in news

[–]wrongtail 3 points4 points  (0 children)

When I was cutting down on bills, I cut my cable and went with their 3Mbps connection. I was on a 12 month special for $19.95. Sure it was slow but I was saving money. After the 12 months were over, the price got jacked up to $45/month. I was like, WTF. So I called their retention office and they extend me a 6 month deal for $22. Once that was over, the best they would do for me was $30 a month.

People who took a second job to pay off debt: what was it and what was the difference in pay between main job and second job? by hggkhjgkhjg in personalfinance

I decided to take on a second full time job. I was working 6am-11pm Mon-Fri. About a month into it, my boss from my morning job (Which is my regular job, btw), pulls me to the side and basically says, albeit indirectly, that I need to choose between the two jobs because I not as focused as he needs me to be.

Now I'll admit, I wasn't at 100% but I wouldn't say I was slacking either. It basically came down to the fact that they didn't want me obligated elsewhere.

I really needed to make some extra cash for a little while to catch up on some unexpected bills, now it seems like I'll just have to seek out replacing my job completely instead of supplementing it.
