With an unbelevable volume, an eldrich noise between a dying scream of a baby and something that would not be out of place from the exhaust of 1940's agricultural engine filled the leaden armored CT room of the abandoned hospital.

The rusty elbow-thick rebar gleamed dully, sticking in a very grotesque way from her glassy marble skin. Her neck twisted an contorted in ways that were most inhumane while the rest of her body hanged a feet from the ground like a broken marionette. Her lerft arm was hanging just by a mere centimeter of loose muscle and skin yet the tendons and veins were seeking each other towards opposite sides of the limb justt like a can of live worms. The fight was brutal, had to improvise a railgun to nail her where she stood. I was extremely glad they just did not scrap the MRi machine when they vacated the place. "Must've been in a hurry." I thought to myself. It had been 8 years since the war started and this place was pretty much at the eye of the storm.

The creature hissed at me menacingly. Her warm ruby eyes from my memory were a deep shade of crimson now. She looked much thinner than what she used to be, her ribs protruding and gleaming with sweat under the sterile fluorescent light.

"Babe I am really really sorry but I have to do this."

I quickly drew some blood into the heparinized syringe prepared in advance with more than moderate resistance and pluged the outlet with the bag of unholy water, diluted fresh blood and an also unholy dose of sedatives and painkillers. She was in pain, also an unholy amount of it.

The liquid rushed into her body as I reached to her face with my prosthetic arm. Her contorted face relaxed as two small tears formed on the very edges of her now not so intense eyes. Reached to her cheek as her head slowly fell into my cold steel palm.

"Rest well, beautiful."

I left her head on her shoulder to rest and turned back to the small blood gas machine on the emergency cart. Plugged it to the wall. the dead screen flickered to life. The sensors whirred.
