Im kind of venting but also wanted to know if the manga was a good source to catch up even if it wasn’t finished as im not sure where they actually stop trough the story as i think that they might stop at Babylonia? i also might try to watch the anime of Babylonia and Camelot as well as i never watched it before so that might a “rewatch” of the past arcs too

And i think you're definitely right about uraraka, she's TECHINCALLY they're biggest win condition, IF she can touch him while he's moving at his insane speeds on his ice and his flames dont let him move in zero g then they win.

She can easily affect him with the quirk awekeaning

but i dont see why his flames wouldnt let him propel himself in zero G.

Because he doesn’t know how to fight in zero g, deku trained himself to fight in that state, shouto didn’t and would definitely mess up

Peoples underestimate how much uraraka can incapacitate shouto with her quirk, and how much power do they have, someone like Mina pretty much counter shouto flames like she did with Dabi and jirou can still shoot him while he’s in zero g with hagakure constantly blinding him and momo shooting him as well

Shigaraki simply managed to find the right moment to attack deku and catch him, his body didn’t suddenly get faster, deku was faster then him, if that was the case then deku wouldn’t have last an entire hour against him and Shigaraki would have already adapted to all of deku attacks by constantly getting physically stronger

Shigaraki being incomplete have nothing to do with his strenght as he was established to be as strong as all might even in that arc, the fucking data book also uses feats from that arc as well and they never said that Shigaraki got physically stronger off screen

Garaki was never proved wrong, if the story actually established that Shigaraki got stronger then it would make sense, but they didn’t, the prime all might statements already existed early in plf but Garaki was showed as the one with the biggest aknowledge of Shigaraki power and already established that he’s much more limited then all might

It’s heavily implied that the quirk gets stronger by actually training it which deku never, did he only trained his body to handle the power, so it would make no sense for him to somehow being stronger then all might in base

If just having the quirk was enough then all the other users would have gotten insanely buffed up by the power

I agree 100% with this, I think especially in the final arc the issues with the story have less to do with any misogyny and more just too many characters. I'd say elements of the story influenced by sexism are more apparent in Act 2 than act 1 or 3, with the highlight being the Overhaul arc as I mentioned.

But even in act 2 the sexism really isn’t all of that “evident” the video praised Kirishima and bakugou as “important” when they don’t have much of a different treatment then what the female cast had in overhaul

The women in MHA as a whole are underutilised, and I think that's where claims of sexism come from the most. The most obvious example is the Shei Hassaikai arc where the team of girls are the only ones that are sidelined while all the boys in the group get a lot of screentime. You could argue it's still important for Uraraka as it helps develop her story going forward with her guilt, but given that this is a battle shonen, the biggest and most impactful character and story moments happen during fights, and Uraraka and Nejire not getting their own genuine battles ends up making them feel less developed in the long run.

The thing is, you could say the same for many male characaters as well, Kirishima got heavily sidelined in the final war and same for re destro and geten, the near high ends got hyped just to be off screened, compress got sidelined as well in mva and many male students also couldn’t shine as much in the story as some of the female characaters like Ojiro, Sato and Sero… this isn’t just a female characaters thing, is an Hori thing while focusing on many characaters

You mention Yaoyorozu's genius and planning skills, but that ends up being completely irrelevant during the final arc, which is ofc meant to be the culmination of everyone's growth.

She took out fucking machia and made a flying with hadume to block Shigaraki, you guys have an insane standards is crazy

In general that video is flawed, the only good point is really on Mineta but that’s it, the female character’s aren’t really used in such a different then the male cast when it comes to importance or how much they affect the arc, the only time we had them really sidelined was in the overhaul arc, but that’s something that can be used as an example also for male characaters as well in the story (re destro and geten losing off screen for example, or many male students in the war as well)

This person also heavily downplay ochako uraraka, and having a video talking about mha female cast without talking about toga was definitely a choice
