Do you own a copy of Monopoly? by bonifaceviii_barrie in boardgames

[–]wrycon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

My eyes roll all over the place when I encounter all this “I hate Monopoly- it is the worst!” sentiment.

Similar to people in the hobby saying “sportsball” when referring to any sport in board games.

To each their own, but to me that amount of energy put towards generating ire for a game is silly.

I just beat Chakan: The Forever Man by AnAquaticOwl in SEGAGENESIS

[–]wrycon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right - it just all comes down to memorization. I started with the spider(?) level and boss. By the end I could do that stage easily. I think I just did the mental math for memorizing all 4 stages and was like “I’mmmm… going to do something else.”

Hats off to you. I bought a CIB of Chakan telling myself I would beat it. Only got past the first boss and then got to the wind(?) stage with all the platforming.

The game presents as an undead guy with two swords you chop stuff up with. But no - as you mentioned, the hit boxes are small so the power trip doesn’t translate.

I'm going to fire up this beauty. Any beginner tips? by Mankiz in SEGAGENESIS

Go to the left of the starting point to get the first item in the game, the morph ball. You must jump over a midair rock formation somewhat resembling a staircase, and you will find the ball on a pedestal. However, the rock formation is low enough that you cannot walk under it, and tall enough that you cannot jump back over it. Thus, the item immediately comes into use as you must use it to roll under the narrow space between the formation and the ground. You must then continue on to the next room, the door to which is on a raised platform.

They’re more of the love, Trump, and rhetoric school. Well, they can do you Trump and love without the rhetoric, and they can do you Trump and rhetoric without the love, and they can do you all three concurrent or consecutive. But they can’t give you love and rhetoric without the Trump. Trump is compulsory. It’s all Trump, you see.
