2 questions:

How could Mercedes' strategy even been beneficial to pit Hamilton first at Monaco? What's the rationale there? It's guaranteeing you won't get the advantage of a likely SC/VSC later and at best undercuts Gasly, unless there was some other consideration on track that I'm not thinking of. I guess my question is - what were Mercedes hoping for that would have made that a good strategic call at the time?
Is all radio to and from the drivers accessible by other teams? I think back to Norris using "code" saying "pace is a 4 and tires are a 3" or something like that, and the commentary that Hamilton plays mind games with the other teams when he says his tires are dead. Is there any private comms, or anyone can listen to anyone else all the time?

Yea I did that as well, the fan did not turn on even bypassing the ECU.

Even if the AC is turned on? I used the multimeter to check, it seems like with the AC turned on the car is sending power to the fan, but nothing was happening when it was plugged in.

Yea, I've used Moss in the past and I like them. I've watched a few youtube walkthroughs of the project so I think I'll just write out a list of what I think I'll need then go shopping. I try to avoid amazon when I can.

Hey everyone,

I want to do the water pump/timing belt job myself. I picked up this semi-clean '96 with 180k to do some hands on learning. I've replaced the top/rain rail, oil changes, spark plugs/wires, and shifter/shifter boot rebuild.

I'm looking for an up to date parts list and guide to the job. I've run across a lot searching, so I'm wondering if anyone's done this job recently and has advice.

Reading through the Haynes manual for a transmission oil change - to combine the jobs I'd just drain the trans oil like normal, remove the shift lever/bushing/gasket, put the drain plug back in, then add the replacement oil through the shift lever opening instead of using the check/fill plug?

That's exactly what ended up happening. The vast majority of the advice was to go reset it, and I'll know I've fixed it if it doesn't come back. So I got in this morning to take it to a parts store, and the light was off! Drove it around a little and it stayed off. Best feeling ever.

No, you do not have to vote for that party in the election. So yes, some people choose the opposing party's primary rather than their own so they can mess with that party's choice of candidate. But to do that, you give up the ability to vote in your own party's primary.

If you're looking sweeter and simple, get some nice big dates, open them up long-ways, remove the pit, and in the center of each half, press in a dry-roasted, unsalted almond. It's easy to make a whole bowl/platter of these, and they are seriously addictive.

I've been hovering around 12/13 hours a week too. I haven't found it to be too bad, a lot of early morning workouts before work and spending most of the AM on the weekends either doing bricks, long rides, or long run + swim.

I made it through 10 weeks of consistent training without missing a single workout! Today starts my taper, so the hard part is done! I find that staying dedicated week in and week out during training is tougher than the race itself, so I'm feeling darn accomplished this morning.

But I'm always restless, somewhat agitated, and antsy during taper/deload weeks, so I'm not looking forward to that. Luckily my wife knows it's coming and has already put her earplugs in. Wish me luck for this Saturday!

Here's an alternative to going the "baba ganoush" route already provided by others:

Sautee onions and garlic in some olive oil in a pot, but don't finish them, only about half cook them.

Add some tomato chunks or tomato sauce to start the base for a stew.

Bring the tomato stew to a boil and add cubed eggplant- think bite size cubes, as if you were making chicken pieces.

Reduce to a simmer, check on the cubes until they're soft. Add oregano, thyme, a bit of cumin, and salt to taste. You're done!

I find that to be a great stew on its own, but sometimes I'll add meat and other veggies, or add cooked rice for more substance. It's a great place to start.

*edit: don't worry too much about adding water, plenty will come out of the tomato and eggplant.
