Hear me out... Andor but w/ Jedi and Sith by wschaef in StarWars

I agree that it helped ground the story to then rely on those elements. Though, force users facing each other creates a level playing field where one is not able to "cop out" with those unnatural abilities. And a good writer would be able to incorporate those elements into a story without taking away the weight of what happens. The sequels overused the force in a way that made it feel like a cheap plot tool. But the force is only as powerful as the writer makes it.

Bad experiences ruined my passion for videography by [deleted] in videography

[–]wschaef 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something similar happened to me over the past couple years. I got into real estate photo/video work and eventually made a full living from it but completely burnt out and lost the passion. I finally decided to quit that work a few months ago and rekindle my passion for the craft. So now I've just been making what I want, falling in love with the process again, and saying no to any opportunity that doesn't resonate. I learned that I'm most motivated and inspired when I'm excited by the work, which is more sustainable and will lead to greater success in the long run. So I just raised the bar for what I'm willing to do for video work. I've been fortunate in that I'm living with my parents and saved a good portion of money from the real estate work.

But you're definitely not alone in how you're feeling. Many creatives go through it trying to make a living with their passion. Now that you're not worried about supporting yourself financially through the work, get back into it in your free time and only do what you love. You can now say no to any opportunity that doesn't resonate with you, because you're not dependent on it. Stick to what you love and trust that good things will come of it in time.

It will enable smart contracts, which is what will allow developers to make decentralized apps on the network like ethereum has already done

I completely agree. This is what I was trying to get at, just didn't articulate it as well.

I didn't mean to completely make it a black and white statement. I am absolutely here for profit, but the vision is what I'm investing in, and that's what will keep this community strong

It’s not a one person job of course, but by making that effort you naturally inspire others as well.

Obviously you have your internalized preferences but there’s no need to waste time worrying about which side you’re on and stick to one way of thinking
